对外宣传材料翻译的现状、存在问题及解决办法

【摘要】: 随着改革开放的深入和中国国际地位的提高,对外宣传工作在社会生活中扮演着越来越重要的角色,而对外宣传工作的开展离不开对外宣传材料的翻译。自二十世纪八十年代以来,对外宣传材料的翻译空前繁荣,无论是规模还是影响都达到了历史最高水平,但是与这种繁荣不相适应的是,无论是在正式出版物还是非正式出版物中,各种语言和非语言错误或问题仍然随处可见。本文运用多系统理论、赞助人理论和功能翻译理论等探讨这一现象并寻求解决存在问题的办法。笔者认为,,对外宣传材料有其自身的独特特点,如具有浓厚的文化色彩、政治色彩,讲究时效性等。在翻译过程中,原语社会和目的语社会中的多系统,包括语言、文化、政治、经济和意识形态等都从宏观或微观方面发挥作用。要改变对外宣传材料汉英翻译的现状,首先必须对在翻译过程中发挥作用的各个因素进行研究,然后在此基础上从宏观和微观两方面提出解决办法,翻译的总体质量才能得到有效的提高。
