跨文化视角下赛珍珠《牡丹》中冲突性话语分析

【摘要】：冲突性话语被视为一种普遍的语言现象,在人们日常生活中频繁出现。其也称为冲突话语,争论性话语。从80年代开始,这一术语被广泛应用于不同领域,比如:人文学,心理学,社会学和语言学。然而,关于跨文化作品中的冲突性话语研究却未引起足够关注。作为跨文化交际的人桥,美国作家赛珍珠在其跨文化作品中通过大量冲突话语突显了不同文化之间的差异。因此本文选择赛珍珠小说《牡丹》中43组冲突性话语为语料。运用话语分析、冲突性话语分析理论和言语行为理论,采用定量和定性的研究方法,从跨文化交际的角度分析《牡丹》中的冲突性话语。本文的主要研究问题为:《牡丹》中的跨文化冲突性话语是如何产生、发展和结束的?这些跨文化冲突性话语产生的原因是什么?赛珍珠对《牡丹》中不同文化之间冲突的态度是什么?研究结果表明《牡丹》中的话语冲突起始模式主要有三种:表态陈述和否定表态陈述,指定和拒绝,质疑和否定性回答。在这一阶段,表态陈述和否定表态陈述占据的比例较大,这表明小说中的人物倾向于采用直接的形式来陈述观点。在冲突的发展阶段主要包含否定,争论和非顺从。其中,争论占比较大的比例。冲突结束的方式主要有让步,第三方介入和折中。其中,妥协占据比例最多。通过对43组冲突性话语的定量和定性分析,得出引起话语冲突的主要原因是小说中主人公的民族中心主义和文化渗透。研究表明赛珍珠鼓励不同文化的人们去相互了解、互相宽容,鼓励人们去尊重客观存在的文化差异。她认为中犹两种文化是可以共存的,同时她也提倡不同的民族进行通婚,在相互渗透中保持文化的多样性。
[Abstract]:Conflict discourse is regarded as a common linguistic phenomenon and frequently occurs in people's daily life. It is also called conflict discourse, argumentative discourse. Since the 1980s, the term has been widely used in different fields, such as humanities, psychology, sociology and linguistics. However, the study of Conflict Discourse in cross-cultural works has not been carried out. As a bridge of intercultural communication, Pearl Buck, an American writer, highlights the differences between different cultures through a large number of conflicting discourses in her cross-cultural works. Therefore, 43 groups of conflicting discourses in Pearl Buck's novel Peony are selected as the corpus of this study. Discourse analysis, Conflict Discourse Analysis and speech act theory are employed. On the basis of quantitative and qualitative research, this paper analyzes the conflicting utterances in Peony from the perspective of cross-cultural communication. The main research questions of this paper are: How did the cross-cultural conflicting utterances in Peony come into being, develop and end? What are the causes of these cross-cultural conflicting utterances? Pearl Buck's different cultures in Peony What are the attitudes toward conflict? The results show that there are three main modes of discourse conflict initiation in Peony: declarative and negative declarative, designated and rejected, questioned and negative answers. In the development stage of the conflict, there are negation, argument and non-compliance. Among them, the proportion of the controversy is large. The ways to end the conflict are concession, third-party intervention and compromise. Among them, compromise occupies the largest proportion. The main reason is the ethnocentrism and cultural infiltration of the hero in the novel.Studies show that Pearl Buck encourages people from different cultures to understand each other, to forgive each other and to respect the objective cultural differences. Maintain cultural diversity in penetration.
