[Abstract]:I am not standing on this podium in isolation. I was surrounded by voices, hundreds of voices. These voices have been with me since my childhood. I grew up in the countryside. When we were children, we liked to play crazy outside, but at night, the village women who had been tired all day put the bench next to their cabin and got together, and their voices attracted us like magnets. None of them had men, no fathers, no brothers. After the end of World War II, I don't remember there were men in our village: during the war, there were four Belarusians.
