萨特存在主义视角下《莫洛伊》的荒诞性解读

塞缪尔·贝克特是20世纪最具独创精神的文学大师之一,并于1969年获得诺贝尔文学奖。《莫洛伊》作为其“实验小说”的巅峰之作,是对荒诞的存在以及人的本质的形而上的探索。“荒诞性”是本文研究的核心。本文以法国哲学家兼文学家萨特的存在主义理论为依托,从荒诞性的事实状态、荒诞感和荒诞性哲学观三个角度分别对贝克特小说《莫洛伊》中的荒诞性进行解读,并试图探寻小说中荒诞性的意义。荒诞性的事实状态部分主要研究了孤立个体的生存困境、疏离群体间的矛盾冲突以及非理性世界里人的异化;荒诞感部分重点研究了小说创作中语言的荒诞感、符号的荒诞感和断裂的叙事所营造的荒诞感,体现了世界的无序性和不确定性。荒诞性哲学观部分主要从“偶然性”入手,探寻了时间的消解、自我的消解以及冷漠的社会中人和世界荒诞存在的偶然性。研究发现主人公在“找寻”失败后选择把自我圈禁不是悲观意识的体现,相反,这体现了他们在荒诞世界中勇于坚持“自为的自我”。本文对荒诞性的探讨有助于读者理解《莫洛伊》所蕴含的时代性特质。
