【摘要】：这篇论文,通过分析辛克莱·刘易斯三部最好的小说,即：《大街》、《巴比特》、《阿罗史密斯》,阐明刘易斯的女性观。研究主要集中在这三部小说中的女性角色,尤其是卡萝尔同丈夫肯尼科特医生的关系,以及《巴比特》和《阿罗史密斯》中与男主人公有关系的女性角色和他们最终的结局关系。 论文通过对三部作品的分析得出结论,贯穿刘易斯写作的并非女性主义而是大男子主义。小说家塑造的九位女性中,只有两位最终与男主人公确立美好的关系：一位是卡萝尔,她最终成为家中天使,只能将自己立志改革的初衷寄希望于小女儿身上；另一位是麦拉,她始终是家中天使,最初就是,一直都是,最后还是。其余女子均为“折翼”天使：奇拉,她总是唠唠叨叨的试图控制保罗；唐尼斯,她是纸品零售商的遗孀,之后成为巴比特的情人；小仙女,一个只在巴比特梦中出现的形象；利奥拉,她几乎具备家中天使的所有要素,但却未能生育孩子；乔伊斯,她已经再婚但仍然我行我素；玛德莲,一位只在乎金钱和品味的自负女子；奥奇德,位从未对任何男人忠诚过的女子。刘易斯借助小说的男主人公的眼光表达了他对女性社会角色的大男子主义的观点。
[Abstract]:This paper, by analyzing three of Sinclair Lewis's best novels, is: main Street, Babbitt, Arrosmith. The study mainly focuses on the female characters in the three novels, especially the relationship between Carol and her husband, Dr. Kenicot. In Babbitt and Arrosmith, the female characters associated with the protagonists and their final outcomes. Through the analysis of the three works, the paper concludes that Lewis's writing is not feminism but male chauvinism. Only two of them finally established a good relationship with the hero: one was Carol, who eventually became an angel in the family, and could only place her original intention of reform on her younger daughter; The other was Myra, who had always been an angel in the family, who had been, always, and finally. The rest of the women were "flattened" angels: Chila, she was always nagging to try to control Paul; Donnis, the widow of a paper retailer, became Babbitt's lover; Fairy, an image that appears only in Babbitt's dream; Leola, who had almost all the elements of an angel in her family, failed to bear children; Joyce, she's remarried but still does her own thing; Madeleine, a conceited woman who cares only about money and taste; Ochid, a woman who had never been loyal to a man, Lewis expressed his view of male chauvinism about female social roles through the eyes of the protagonist in the novel.
