哈代小说及诗歌主题研究

　　托马斯·哈代是十九世纪末二十世纪初重要的小说家和诗人。他是横跨两个世纪的作家,早期和中期的创作以小说为主,继承和发扬了维多利亚时代的文学传统;晚年以其出色的诗歌开拓了英国20世纪的文学。他的一生创作了大量的小说和诗歌作品。其中,小说使其跃居于世界文学大师之列。他的小说致力于描绘以其家乡英国西南部的多塞特郡为原型的威塞克斯的人情风貌和当地人的生活与悲苦,表现了人在社会环境的压力下挣扎生存的状态。哈代的诗歌作品最早发表于19世纪90年代。其诗歌的现实性与现代性对后世产生了巨大的影响。本文将哈代的小说与诗歌相结合,发掘小说和诗歌的共同主题,这些主题包括:爱情,宗教,自然和时间。本文将具体分析作者研究撰写四大主题的思想来源和社会成因,四个主题在作者小说和诗歌中的体现以及所产生的文学意义和影响。通过对主题的研究,本文试图从思想性和文学性上对哈代的主要作品做一较为详细的探索和评述。本文主要采取文本分析和比较的方法进行主题的研究和分析。文中所采用的小说例证为哈代小说创作后期最具代表性的三本著作:《还乡》,《德伯家的苔丝》和《无名的裘德》。文中引用的诗歌将会标明创作时间。
