【摘要】：旅游业过去在全球逐渐成为最重要产业之一,并且在当今世界很多国家成为非常重要的经济活动,旅游业包罗万象,但是本论文将研究重点放在旅游业中的酒店业,酒店业因为能够给许多国家带来较高的收入并且能够加强本国与外界的联系因而在世界经济中扮演重要角色,酒店业已经成为国民经济一个重要的组成部分并且对国民经济发展有积极的影响其中最主要的是酒店业还具备拉动就业的功能.酒店业对国民经济的积极作用的大小取决于开发必要基础设施的投资能力和满足旅游者的能力然而,在传统的旅游业中存在着很多隐形的成本和费用并且对当地社区有不利的经济影响比如成本损耗,一个区域的直接收入源于旅游者在其边界中的花费往往是,因为有各种成本费用的支出,收入往往会变得很少,这些成本费用包括：税务支出,本区域外的工资和利润支出,进口支出,伴之而来的还有基础设施支出。开发酒店很可能会耗费当地政府和纳税人很多的经费,开发者可能会要求政府改善机场、公路和其他公共设施。旅游者对基础服务和商品的强烈需求导致的物价上涨会对当地居民的生活带来负面影响,因为他们的薪资并没有随之增长)。酒店业开发还会对环境造成一定影响),特别是会对水源造成污染),旅游业会通过建造和维修旅游基础设施等途径污染水源甚至会引起周围居民的心慌、听力下降,对野生动植物生存造成压力.生态环境和自然栖居地会被旅游基础设施和旅游活动破坏,旅游业会严重影响当地赖以生存的环境资源。但是从另外角度讲,如果得到保护和留存,旅游业也会对当地环境带来益处和福利.酒店对于世界上的旅游者住宿而言显而易见是必不可少的,但是它们也会有消极的方面,突出地表现在对环境的破坏上。本论文以哥斯达黎加的旅馆业实践为样本,旨在解释旅游业通过何种机理对一国经济发展和环境产生影响。
