国际教育:联合国大会强调教育议题

【摘要】：正据国际教育组织网站9月30日报道,距实现"千年发展目标"的最后日期还有不到800天,联合国大会特别举行了一次会议回顾已取得的进展。因此,上周"教育"成为联合国大会的重点议题。报道称,虽然自2000年以来,世界各国在推进"千年发展目标"进程方面已经做了很多努力,但实际上,许多国家的进展并不如人意,或是不平衡或是停滞不前。目标二———普及初等教育的发展速度在过去几年明显放缓,以致到目前为止,仍有5,700万名儿童辍学在家。联合国秘书长潘基文(Ban Ki-moon)自提出"全球教育第一倡议"(Global Education First Initiative)以来,一直把教育作为全球发展议程的重点,致力于增加教育机会、提高教育质量和全球公民素质。他说:"我们的努力正开花结果。教育正恢复其应有的在全球议程中的位置……但是我们必须做更多。教育最贫穷以及最边缘化的儿童需要我们有政治魄力以及增加资金的承诺。"
[Abstract]:As reported on the website of the International Educational Organization on September 30th, with less than 800 days to go before the deadline for the achievement of the Millennium Development goals, the United Nations General Assembly held a special meeting to review the progress made... Last week, "education" became a major issue at the United Nations General Assembly. Reports say that while countries around the world have done a lot to advance the Millennium Development goals since 2000, in fact, many countries are not doing as well. Goal two-- the pace of development of universal primary education has slowed significantly over the past few years to the point that, to date, 7 million children still drop out of school at home. Un Secretary General Ban Ki-moon has made education high on the global development agenda since he launched the Global Education First Initiative, and is committed to increasing educational opportunities. Improve the quality of education and the quality of global citizens. He said: "our efforts are bearing fruit. Education is returning to its rightful place on the global agenda... But we must do more. Educate the poorest and most marginalized children. Children need our political courage and commitment to increase funding. "
