左宗棠洋务教育思想研究

【摘要】: 左宗棠(1812-1885),字季高,湖南湘阴人。左宗棠在中国近代史上以爱国者、政治家和军事家的形象而闻名于世,但我们亦不能忽视其洋务教育活动,抹杀其教育贡献。左宗棠创办福建船政学堂、倡导留学教育,提出了对教育问题的一些新看法和主张,其洋务教育思想、贡献也大有可书之处。 左宗棠洋务教育思想是在近代中西方文化冲突与交汇日趋激烈、洋务运动兴起这个新旧交替的时代,对如何培养适应新形势需要的人才的观点,它客观上促进了中国传统教育在形式上的逐步解体,启动了中国教育近代化进程。 左宗棠洋务教育思想的形成经历了孕育、萌芽和发展三个阶段。他在对传统文教的反思与批判、西方文教的关注与认识基础上,极力倡导、引入西学;提出“中不如西,学西可也”;重视培养、任用洋务人才;强调“艺局为造就人才之地”,倡导建立新式学校:仿效西方教育体制制定了具有现代意义的课程设置与各种规章制度;竭力提倡带有明确目的的留欧教育等等。左宗棠洋务教育思想在教育内容、教学方式等方面冲破了传统儒家教育思想的藩篱,创立了“西艺”教育的基本模式,促进了中西文化交流并适应了中国近代教育发展的趋势。虽然他的洋务教育思想呈现出严重的功利化倾向、改革的有限性等,但其产学结合的教学模式、注重自我创新意识培养、正确处理引进与吸收的关系等,对我们今天和谐教育的构建仍有重要的理论与现实意义。
[Abstract]:Zuo Zongtang 1812-1885, the word season high, Hunan Xiangyin people. Zuo Zongtang is famous as a patriot, statesman and strategist in the modern history of China, but we can not ignore his Westernization education activities and nullify his educational contribution. Zuo Zongtang founded Fujian Shipyard School, advocated the education of studying abroad, and put forward some new views and opinions on the educational problems. Zuo Zongtang's thoughts on Westernization education were becoming increasingly fierce in the modern times when the cultural conflicts between China and the West were becoming more and more intense. The Westernization Movement rose in this new and old era, and had a view on how to train talents to meet the needs of the new situation. It objectively promotes the gradual disintegration of Chinese traditional education in form and starts the process of modernization of Chinese education. The formation of Zuo Zongtang's thought of Westernization education has experienced three stages: gestation, germination and development. On the basis of the reflection and criticism of traditional culture and education and the concern and understanding of western culture and education, he strongly advocated and introduced western learning; It emphasizes that "the Art Bureau advocates the establishment of new schools for the purpose of bringing up talents": emulating the western educational system, formulating modern curriculum and various rules and regulations, striving to promote the education of staying in Europe with definite purpose, and so on. Zuo Zongtang's Westernization Education thought broke through the barriers of the traditional Confucian educational thought in the aspects of educational contents and teaching methods, established the basic mode of "Western Art" education, promoted the cultural exchange between China and the West, and adapted to the trend of the development of modern Chinese education. Although his thoughts on Westernization education show a serious tendency of utilitarianism and the limitation of reform, his teaching mode of combining production with learning, pays attention to the cultivation of self-innovation consciousness, and correctly deals with the relationship between introduction and absorption, etc. It still has important theoretical and practical significance to the construction of harmonious education today.
