小学生英语学习动机调查与分析

【摘要】：2011版《义务教育英语课程标准》要求教师应把培养小学生对英语学习的兴趣和培养他们良好的英语学习动机放在首位。因此,研究小学生英语学习动机是当下英语教育工作者面临的一项重要研究任务,特别是在当前新课程改革和“减负十条”的背景下,研究小学生英语学习动机对实现《义务教育英语课程标准》等级目标和总体目标具有现实意义,同时,了解和激发学生的英语学习动机对指导英语教学具有重要的理论和实践意义。本研究立足赣州市小学英语教育,以Bandura的自我效能理论、Gardner的社会教育模式和D?rnyei的二语学习动机三层次说理论为指导,采用定量研究的方法,编制了自陈式《小学生英语学习动机调查问卷》,并对两所学校共502名小学生进行了问卷调查,之后对收回的488份有效问卷进行了详细的数据统计和分析,旨在了解当前小学生的英语学习动机水平现状,探索小学生英语学习动机是否存在学校、性别和年级差异,同时探讨激发和保持小学生英语学习动机的方法和途径。研究发现,赣州市小学生英语学习动机水平总体偏高,小学生英语学习动机水平在学校、性别和年级上存在显著的差异。具体表现为,城区小学学生的英语学习动机水平明显优于郊区小学学生;女生的英语学习动机水平明显高于男生;小学生英语学习动机水平在三年级最高,但随着年级的升高,他们的动机水平呈现下降的趋势,尤其是在三年级到四年级时急速下降。这提示英语教师要高度重视、重点关注小学四、五年级的学生,把握好英语学习动机培养和维持的关键时期,尤其是教师的教学方法和情感态度会直接影响学生的英语学习动机水平。因此,在小学英语教学中,教师应遵循学生心理发展和认知规律,激发学生的学习兴趣,增加学生获得成就感的机会,培养学生的自我效能感,从而提高学生的英语学习动机水平,进而提高小学英语教学成效。
[Abstract]:The English Curriculum Standard for compulsory Education in 2011 requires teachers to give priority to developing pupils' interest in English learning and developing their good motivation for learning English. Therefore, it is an important task for English educators to study the motivation of primary school students' English learning, especially in the context of the new curriculum reform and "reducing the burden of ten items". It is of practical significance to study the motivation of primary school students' English learning in order to achieve the level and overall goals of compulsory Education English Curriculum Standard, and at the same time, Understanding and motivating students' English learning motivation has important theoretical and practical significance in guiding English teaching. This study is based on primary English education in Ganzhou, guided by Bandura's self-efficacy theory, Gardner's model of social education, and Dhanrnyei's theory of three levels of motivation for second language learning, and adopts a quantitative approach. The questionnaire of English learning motivation of primary school students was compiled, and 502 pupils from two schools were investigated. Then, 488 valid questionnaires were collected and analyzed in detail. The purpose of this paper is to understand the present situation of pupils' English learning motivation, to explore whether there are school, gender and grade differences in pupils' English learning motivation, and to explore the ways and means to stimulate and maintain pupils' English learning motivation. It is found that the English learning motivation level of primary school students in Ganzhou is on the high side, and there are significant differences among school, gender and grade. The results show that the level of English learning motivation of primary school students in urban area is obviously better than that of suburban primary school students; the English learning motivation level of girls is obviously higher than that of boys; the English learning motivation level of primary school students is the highest in the third grade, but with the increase of grade. Their motivation levels showed a downward trend, especially in the third to fourth grades. This suggests that English teachers should attach great importance to the fourth and fifth grade students of primary schools, and grasp the key period of cultivating and maintaining English learning motivation. In particular, teachers' teaching methods and emotional attitudes will directly affect students' English learning motivation level. Therefore, in primary English teaching, teachers should follow the rules of students' psychological development and cognition, stimulate students' interest in learning, increase students' chances of obtaining a sense of achievement, and cultivate students' sense of self-efficacy. So as to improve the students' English learning motivation, and then improve the effectiveness of English teaching in primary schools.
