文化图式理论视角下汉英口译中文化空缺翻译策略研究

【摘要】：本文从文化图式理论(Cultural Schema Theory)角度,探讨汉英口译中文化空缺(Cultural Vacancy)现象的翻译策略。因为不同民族之间存在文化差异,所以汉语中的一些概念有时在英语中找不到对应的表达,这就是文化空缺现象。以往的研究大多关注笔译中的文化空缺,口译中的相关研究较少。文化图式理论是一个较新的图式理论,它认为文化图式是基于特定文化经历的知识结构。文化空缺产生于三种不同的文化图式对应关系:文化图式部分重叠(Partial Overlap of Cultural Schema)、文化图式冲突(Conflict of Cultural Schema)以及文化图式缺失(Deficiency of Cultural Schema)。因此,本文运用文化图式理论,从以上三个方面探讨汉英口译中文化空缺的翻译策略。本文以2004-2016年总理记者招待会汉英口译文本资料为语料,采用定性分析和案例分析的方法。研究发现:(1)当不同文化图式发生部分重叠时,可采用借译法;(2)当不同文化图式发生冲突时,可采用直译法、补偿法或释义法;(3)当文化图式缺失时,可采用直译法或释义法。本文在文化图式理论视角下,探讨了汉英口译中文化空缺的口译策略,一方面促进了文化空缺现象的口译策略研究,另一方面丰富了文化图式理论的应用范围。
[Abstract]:From the perspective of cultural schema theory, this paper discusses the translation strategies of cultural vacancy phenomenon in Chinese-English interpretation. Because of the cultural differences among different ethnic groups, some concepts in Chinese are sometimes unable to find corresponding expressions in English. This is the phenomenon of cultural vacancy. Most previous studies have focused on cultural vacancy in translation, but there are few related studies in interpreting. Cultural schema theory is a relatively new schema theory. It argues that cultural schemata are knowledge structures based on specific cultural experiences. Cultural gaps arise from three different cultural schemata correspondence: partial Overlap of Cultural schemas, conflict of Cultural schemas, and culture. Schema deficiency of Cultural schema.Therefore, Based on the theory of cultural schema, this paper discusses the translation strategies of cultural vacancy in Chinese-English interpretation from the above three aspects. The text of Chinese-English interpretation at the press conference of the Prime Minister from 2004 to 2016 is used as a corpus. Qualitative analysis and case analysis are used. It is found that when different cultural schemas overlap in part, they can be translated by means of translation. (2) when different cultural schemas conflict, literal translation can be used. When the cultural schema is missing, the literal translation method or the interpretation method can be adopted. This paper, from the perspective of cultural schema theory, probes into the interpreting strategies of cultural vacancy in Chinese-English interpretation. On the one hand, it promotes the study of interpreting strategies of cultural vacancy phenomenon, on the other hand, it enriches the scope of application of cultural schema theory.
