《殖民帝国必经之路》（第二章）英汉翻译实践报告

【摘要】：近年来,国内外出现了大批非虚构性文学作品,大部分此类作品都深受广大读者的喜爱。本翻译报告的实践文本节选自《殖民帝国必经之路——新世界的奴役、自由和欺骗》一书的第二章,该书揭示了 18和19世纪奴隶贸易的真实面目。本报告以吉迪恩·图里的翻译规范理论为指导,笔者首先确定翻译实践文本类型为非虚构性历史体裁作品,并根据文本类型得出笔者在翻译过程中需忠实于原文,强调信息功能的传递。但是为了让文本更容易被目的语读者接受,在翻译过程中,笔者根据图里在初始规范中提出的充分性和可接受性这两者之间进行调和妥协。此次翻译实践中,笔者在词汇、句子以及语言风格方面遇到很多翻译难点。针对专有名词的翻译,笔者通过查阅相关资料进行加注解释,保证读者能更好地理解文本内容;针对原文长难句的特点,笔者运用拆译、合译、语态转换等翻译方法进行分析,在忠实于原文的基础上使得文本更易被读者理解;针对文本风格再现方面,笔者在保留原文句法结构和适当的汉语表达这两方面来分析文本的翻译;最后,笔者分析了翻译经验和存在的问题与不足之处。本次翻译实践是该章节的第一个中文译文,能将国外优秀作品翻译出来,对译者来说是一项很大的挑战。此次翻译不仅帮助目标语读者了解了历史文化信息,还可以增加读者的阅读趣味。
[Abstract]:In recent years, a large number of non-fictitious literary works have appeared at home and abroad, most of which are loved by readers.The practical text of this translation is excerpted from the second chapter of Slavery, Freedom and deceit in the New World, the only way to Colonial empires, which reveals the true nature of the slave trade in the 18th and 19th centuries.This report is guided by Gideon Toury's translation norms theory. Firstly, the author determines that the translation practice text type is a non-fictitious historical genre, and according to the text type, the author should be faithful to the original text in the process of translation.Emphasis on the transmission of information functions.However, in order to make the text more acceptable to the target language readers, in the process of translation, the author makes a compromise between the adequacy and acceptability proposed in the initial norms.In this translation practice, the author encountered many translation difficulties in vocabulary, sentence and language style.In view of the translation of proper nouns, the author makes sure that readers can better understand the content of the text by consulting relevant materials, and analyzes the features of the long difficult sentences in the original by using translation methods such as disassembly, co-translation, voice conversion, and so on.On the basis of being faithful to the original text, the author makes the text easier for readers to understand. In view of the reproduction of the text style, the author analyzes the translation of the text in terms of retaining the syntactic structure of the original text and proper Chinese expression.The author analyzes the translation experience, existing problems and shortcomings.This translation practice is the first Chinese translation of this chapter, and it is a great challenge to the translators.This translation not only helps the target language readers understand the historical and cultural information, but also increases the readers' reading interest.
