基于语料库的中外大学生议论文写作中标示名词的对比研究

【摘要】:标示名词是指一种能够实现句中和跨句衔接作用的抽象名词,在议论文写作中频繁出现,是外语学习者需要掌握的重点和难点之一。本研究采用了定量和定性相结合的研究方法,基于中国英语学习者语料库(CLEC)和英美大学生作文语料库(LOCNESS),对中国英语专业学习者与英语本族语学生在英语议论文写作中的标示名词进行对比分析,旨在揭示中国英语专业学习者与英语本族语者在标示名词的使用频率,语篇功能和语篇构式方面的差异。主要研究结果如下:在使用频率方面,英语本族语学生比中国英语学习者明显地使用更多的标示名词。在21个重合的高频标示名词中,中国英语学习者语料库中有六个词的使用频率高于英语本族语者语料库。接下来,本文研究了英语本族语库中频率最高的六个标示名词。在语篇功能方面,对句内衔接而言,这六个词的后指形式比前指形式的频率高。中国英语专业学习者在前指形式的使用上略高于英语本族语者,而在后指形式的使用上,非本族语学习者明显低于本族语者。对句间衔接而言,前指形式比后指形式的频率高,而且本族语学习者在前指形式和后指形式的使用频率上都高于中国学习者;在语篇构式方面,就句间构式而言,th-SN是最常见的语篇构式。就句中构式而言,SN + to + infinitival specifics是最常用的语篇构式。本研究的意义主要体现在三个方面。首先,本文对中国英语专业学习者与英语本族语学生在英语议论文写作中的标示名词进行对比分析,拓展了对标示名词研究的范围。其次,本文有助于英语学习者在议论文写作中更恰当地选择和运用标示名词。最后,本文还对英语教学具有一定的启示及实践意义。
[Abstract]:Marked nouns refers to an abstract noun which can realize the cohesion of sentences and sentences. It is one of the key points and difficulties that foreign language learners need to grasp frequently. This study adopts the method of combining quantitative and qualitative research, based on Chinese English Learner Corpus (CLEC) and English and American College Students' composition corpus. LOCNESS, a contrastive analysis of the nominal nouns of Chinese English major learners and English native language students in English argumentative writing is made to reveal the differences between Chinese English majors and English native speakers in the use frequency, textual function and textual structure of the labelled nouns. The main results are as follows: in the use of frequency, the main results are as follows: In terms of rate, English native language students use more marked nouns than Chinese English learners. In the 21 overlapped high frequency nominal nouns, six words in the Chinese English learner corpus are more frequently used than the English native corpus. Then, this paper studies the six most frequent signs in the English native language library. Nouns. In terms of textual function, the back finger form of these six words is higher than the front finger form. The use of Chinese English majors is slightly higher than the English native speakers, while in the use of the latter, the non native language learners are obviously lower than those of the native speakers. The frequency of the form is higher than the latter, and the frequency of the native language learners in the former and the posterior forms is higher than that of the Chinese learners; in the textual structure, th-SN is the most common textual structure in the sentence structure. In terms of sentence structure, SN + to + infinitival specifics is the most commonly used textual form. The meaning is mainly embodied in three aspects. First, this paper makes a comparative analysis of the nominal nouns of Chinese English majors and English native language students in English argumentative writing, and expands the scope of the study of the labelled nouns. Secondly, this article will help English learners to choose and apply the nominal nouns more properly in the essay writing. Finally, this paper also has certain inspiration and practical significance for English teaching.
