北京多语言服务中心社区口译案例研究

【摘要】:本文在《2008年北京奥运会以来社区口译在中国的发展》(王立弟、张婕,2011)一文基础上进行后续研究,关注2009年至今社区口译在中国的发展情况。北京奥运会的召开以及北京多语言服务中心(多语中心)的成立对中国口译行业的发展,特别是社区口译的发展起到了极大的推动作用。当前,北京正在着力构建全国政治中心、文化中心、国际交往中心和科技创新中心,多语中心正为构建北京的多语言环境做出重要贡献。本文通过定性和定量研究相结合的方式,基于对北京多语言服务中心负责老师的访谈、对学生志愿者的问卷调查、对学生志愿者的访谈,分析2009年至今北京多语言服务中心的发展情况,特别关注电话坐席口译的发展,并由此探讨多语言服务中心对社区口译发展所起到的促进作用及在发展过程当中所遇到的瓶颈和挑战。研究结果显示,多语中心志愿者对于"社区口译"作为特定概念并不了解,但实际操作中可以体会出电话坐席口译与其他翻译形式的不同;多语中心志愿者普遍具有可以胜任电话坐席工作的基本语言能力,同时也在实践中体会到电话坐席口译需要语言能力外的沟通技能、协调能力等其他能力;多语中心未来应实现招募和管理的规范化,开拓新服务领域及运营模式等。
[Abstract]:On the basis of "the Development of Community interpreting in China since the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games" (Wang Lidi, Zhang Jieyun 2011), this paper makes a follow-up study, focusing on the development of community interpretation in China from 2009 to now. The opening of the Beijing Olympic Games and the establishment of the Beijing multilingual Service Center (MULSC) have greatly promoted the development of the interpretation industry in China, especially the development of community interpreting. At present, Beijing is making great efforts to build a national political center, a cultural center, an international communication center and a science and technology innovation center. The multilingual center is making important contributions to the construction of a multilingual environment in Beijing. Through the combination of qualitative and quantitative research, this paper is based on interviews with teachers in charge of Beijing multilingual service center, questionnaire survey on student volunteers, interviews with student volunteers. Analyzing the development of Beijing multilingual service center since 2009, paying special attention to the development of telephone interpretation, The paper also discusses the role of multilingual service centers in promoting the development of community interpretation and the bottlenecks and challenges encountered in the process of development. The results show that the volunteers of multilingual center do not understand "community interpretation" as a specific concept, but in practice, they can realize the difference between telephone interpretation and other translation forms. The volunteers of multilingual center generally have the basic language ability which can be competent for the job of telephone chair, but also realize in practice that the telephone seat interpretation needs other skills such as communication skills, coordination ability and so on. In the future, multilingual centers should standardize recruitment and management, and develop new service areas and operation modes.
