修辞的艺术 ——《黑王子》中不可靠叙事的修辞叙事学研究

  艾丽丝·默多克是爱尔兰著名小说家。小说《黑王子》是她的代表作。该小说曾获得1973年詹姆斯·泰勒·布莱克纪念奖。这部小说一经问世就受到了学术界的广泛关注。中外学者对其研究的成果较为丰硕。然而学术界用修辞性叙事理论对其不可靠叙事的研究甚少,更是鲜有人系统地用詹姆斯·费伦的修辞叙事学理论对其进行研究。在这部小说中,多叙事视角并置,且每一位叙事者的叙事都是不可靠的。本文运用詹姆斯·费伦的修辞叙事学理论,剖析了《黑王子》中的不可靠叙事,展现了默多克高超的修辞艺术。本论文由费伦的修辞叙事学理论指导完成。首先,论文运用费伦所分类的不可靠性发生的交际轴,详细分析主要叙事者布拉德利与次要人物克里斯蒂安、弗朗西斯、雷切尔和朱利安的不可靠叙事。并且指出编辑罗西亚斯是隐含作者的代言人。第二,费伦把不可靠性又分为“疏远型不可靠性”与“密切型不可靠性”。本论文又以费伦的此分类为指导,探究了在《黑王子》中由于不可靠叙事而产生的读者效果。对读者而言,不可靠叙事产生了对叙事者的反讽的效果,且一定程度上模糊了读者对真凶的判断,从而使读者远离了叙事者。而当读者意识到布拉德利在逐渐接近作者规范时又对其产生认同感,并通过与其...
