湖南省博物馆文物名称及其解说词英译实践报告

　　湖南省博物馆是湖南省最大的历史艺术类博物馆,是首批国家一级博物馆,中央地方共建的八个国家级重点博物馆之一。湖南省博物馆现有馆藏文物18万余件,尤以马王堆汉墓出土文物最具特色。博物馆是一个国家对外宣传历史文化的重要窗口,在文化传播的过程中,博物馆文物名称及解说词的英译起着重要作用,其规范程度直接关系到文化传播顺利与否。国内文博领域的翻译工作还不够完善,关于博物馆文物资料翻译的研究也非常有限。一方面没有相关专著,另一方面,相关的论文研究缺乏系统性、全面性,无法给具体的文物名称和解说词英译工作提供科学的理论和方法指导。本次翻译实践所选取的材料较为特殊,原文是文物名称以及其解说词,属于信息型文本。原文中蕴涵的中华文化因素较丰富,因此翻译的重点和难点也在于如何英译蕴涵中国文化的文物名称及其解说词。在归化与异化两种翻译策略的指导下,为了使译文能最大程度保留源语文化,同时兼顾译文的可读性,对于文物名称以及其解说词中蕴涵的中华文化因素,尽量采用直译的翻译方法。在面对无法直译的文物名称或者解说词时,可采取意译加注释,音译加注释,或者直译与意译结合的翻译方法。同时,在翻译解说词中的难句时,采用合并法来翻译...
