顺应论视角下《唐顿庄园》里英语委婉语的语用研究

　　作为一种间接言语行为,委婉语是一种常见的语言现象,它在人们的日常生活中使用得相当广泛,也是语言交际中人们协调相互关系的重要策略。在社会生活中,人们必不可少地要与他人接触,谈话时使用委婉语能够掩盖一些让人不高兴的、尴尬和威胁面子的事物。通过使用委婉语,人们可以避免言语措辞过于直白而给对方造成伤害。作为语言交际中的一种“润滑剂”,委婉语能保留双方交流者的面子,帮助提高交际效果和保持融洽的人际关系。国内外学者对委婉语的研究并非是近几年才出现的新兴产物,并且已取得了令人欣喜的进步,但是之前的研究大多集中在词汇层面,把委婉语放在语境中的研究很少。语用学就是把特定的话语放在特定的语境中,去探索在不同语境下是怎样使用语言的。基于前人的研究成果,本文以Verschueren的顺应理论为理论框架,试图从语用学角度分析并解释委婉语是如何顺应语境的。具体的说,语言使用者,心理世界,社交世界等交际语境是如何制约并影响委婉语在交际中的使用,进而探讨怎样在交际中使用恰当的委婉语。从交际语境对委婉语进行研究,可以帮助我们去了解人们的思维、语言及文化,有助于消除文化障碍,并对跨文化交际有一定的启示。本文共分五章。第一...
