论“龙”之西译与“dragon”之汉译策略

【摘要】：在西方文化里,"dragon"是邪恶、灾难的化身,它与中华民族的"龙"无论就外在之形,还是就其精神内涵而言,差距颇大。"龙"不宜西译为"dragon",而宜以汉语拼音形式直接以"Long"译之,无论是从音译的角度,还是意译的角度,皆无不妥之处。"Long"在英文中有"(空间上、时间上)长的"、"长久"等意,这都符合"龙"外在形象特征和长久历史积淀所形成的精神文化寓意。更为要者,以"Long"彻底取代"dragon"而为"龙"之英译(西译)形式,可有效纠正在翻译"龙"一词上所体现的讹误和强权主义以及以自我为中心的错误心态,并可为树立中华民族的自信和正面形象作出有效的策应。另一方面,"dragon"一词被汉译为"龙",这也是一大失误,西方的"dragon"更应以音义兼译词"赘狗"等形式进入汉语。建议国家语言工作委员会、中国外交部等在推动、确立"龙"之西译以"Long","dragon"之汉译不宜为"龙"这一过程中有所响应。
[Abstract]:In western culture, "dragon" is the embodiment of evil and disaster. It is quite different from the "dragon" of the Chinese nation in terms of its external form or its spiritual connotation. "Dragon" should not be translated westward as "dragon", but should be translated directly by "Long" in the form of Chinese phonetic alphabet. There is nothing wrong with "Long" from the perspective of transliteration or free translation. "Long" means "long (space, time)" and "long" in English. All this accords with the spiritual and cultural moral formed by the external image characteristics of "dragon" and the accumulation of long history. More importantly, "Long" completely replaces "dragon" and becomes the form of translation (translation) of "dragon" from English to English. It can effectively correct the errors and authoritarianism embodied in the translation of the word "dragon", as well as the wrong self-centered mentality, On the other hand, the word "dragon" has been translated into "dragon", which is also a big mistake. The western "dragon" should be introduced into Chinese in the form of phonetic and semantic translation and translation of the word "redundant dog". It is suggested that the National language working Committee and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China should promote the process of establishing the westward translation of "dragon" as "Long", and that "dragon" should not be translated into "dragon".
