《中国土家族》（节选）文化专有项英译实践报告

　　随着各国文化交流的不断加深,中国文化作品英译取得丰硕成果,中国少数民族文化作品的英译也日益引起人们的重视,相关研究也大量涌现。现存中国少数民族文化英译作品多为少数民族典籍英译,全面介绍中国各少数民族物质文化、社会文化、思想、制度等的普及性英译作品较少,相关理论和实践研究也较少,这就导致普通外国读者缺乏全面了解中国少数民族的渠道。因此,对少数民族普及性文化作品的英译进行深入研究很有必要。针对上述情况,笔者选取了《中国土家族》一书作为本翻译项目的原文本。该书为《中华民族全书》丛书系列中的土家族分卷,编著者为热爱并熟悉本民族文化的专家学者,书中内容真实可信。同时,该书语言平实、准确、生动,相较于专业性较强的民族典籍,这本书的译本更加适合普通外国读者初步了解中国土家族。《中国土家族》一书中有大量文化专有项,给翻译造成了一定的困难。本翻译实践报告以笔者的《中国土家族》（节选）汉译英实践为例,并以艾克西拉提出的文化专有项翻译策略为理论基础,分析以普通读者为受众的中国少数民族普及性文化作品英译的难点所在,探讨艾克西拉提出的十一类文化专有项翻译策略对于此类文本的适用性,并提出关于此类文本的翻译策略和翻...
