从接受美学视角评百部英文电影片名的翻译得失

【摘要】:电影是当代人们生活中重要的组成部分,它融汇了很多艺术手段,能传播信息、抒发情感、展现丰富多彩的生活,使观众得到艺术上的享受。当今大量外国影片被引进国内,那么如何让观众在观赏国外影片时获得与本国观众产生同样的艺术享受,影片的翻译工作便成了关注的焦点。众所周知,一部好电影之所以能吸引成千上万的观众,除了演员的精湛演技、富有哲理的对话以及绚丽多彩的画面外,与其寓意深刻、回味无穷的片名有着必不可分的联系。片名是影片的品牌商标,看似简单却让作者破费深思,寥寥数词凝聚整个作品的精髓,起着导视的作用,是一部电影的“眼睛”,因此译者要善于“画龙点睛”。 本文运用接受美学理论研究国外电影片名的中文翻译。电影片名具有信息功能、美感功能与祈使功能三大主要功能。它既要反映影片的主要内容,暗示影片的类别,还要简短醒目,别出心裁,最大限度地吸引观众,在观众心目中留下难忘的印象。做到先声夺人,从而很好地为影片进行广告宣传。因此,电影片名翻译成为了翻译领域中一颗新星。从电影片名翻译所表现出的简洁形式和蕴涵的丰富内涵,人们能看到译者智慧的结晶,它也是翻译理论和方法灵活应用的反映。但是,传统的翻译理论重视文本的产生和对文本本身的关注,而接受美学理论却转入了对文本的阅读和接受,除此之外,观众的期待视野在接受理论中占据着重要位置。因此,本文选取了英语国家100部影片作为研究范例,从接受美学的角度探讨电影片名的翻译得失。通过对两岸三地的不同译名的对比,总结出电影片名翻译的特征和技巧,结合现今社会趋势,并指出影响选择翻译技巧的重要因素。 论文由五部分组成。第一章为背景介绍,简要阐述了此研究的意义、目的和研究方法以及本研究有关语料库的建立。第二章为文献综述,即从国内和国外对此研究所作出的进步以及不足。第三章的主要内容是阐述电影片名的定义、分类、特征以及功能,还重点阐述了接受美学理论的定义、特征以及三个基本原则,最后还对接受美学如何应用于翻译乃至于电影片名翻译作了详细的阐述。第四章论述了在接受美学理论基础上电影片名翻译的技巧,影响翻译技巧选择的重要原因以及大陆、香港和台湾对于电影片名翻译的对比。最后一章归纳总结了全文。
[Abstract]:Film is an important part of contemporary people's life. It melts a lot of artistic means, can spread information, express emotion, show rich and colorful life, and make the audience enjoy art. Nowadays, a large number of foreign films have been introduced into China. Well, how to make the audience enjoy the same artistic enjoyment as the domestic audience when watching foreign films, the translation work of the film becomes the focus of attention. As we all know, the reason why a good film can attract thousands of viewers, In addition to the actor's consummate acting skills, philosophical dialogue and colorful pictures, there must be an inseparable connection with the film title, which has profound implications and endless aftertaste. The title is the brand trademark of the film, but it seems simple but it makes the author ponder over it. A few numerals condense the essence of the work and act as a guide, which is the eye of a movie, so the translator should be good at finishing. This paper applies the theory of reception aesthetics to the study of Chinese translation of foreign film titles. Film titles have three main functions: information function, aesthetic function and imperative function. It should reflect the main content of the film and imply the category of the film. Also want to be short and eye-catching, ingenious, attract the audience to the maximum extent, leaving an unforgettable impression in the audience's mind. Film title translation has become a new star in the field of translation. From the concise form and rich connotation of film title translation, one can see the crystallization of the translator's wisdom. It is also a reflection of the flexible application of translation theories and methods. However, traditional translation theories attach importance to the production of texts and their attention to the text itself, while the theory of reception aesthetics turns to the reading and acceptance of texts. The audience's vision of expectation plays an important role in reception theory. Therefore, this paper selects 100 films from English-speaking countries as examples. From the perspective of reception aesthetics, this paper discusses the success and loss of film title translation. Through the comparison of different translation names between the two sides of the Taiwan Strait, this paper sums up the characteristics and skills of film title translation, and combines with the current social trend. It also points out the important factors that influence the choice of translation skills. The thesis is composed of five parts. The first chapter is the background introduction, which briefly describes the significance, purpose and research methods of this study and the establishment of the corpus of this research. Chapter two is a literature review. In chapter three, the definition, classification, characteristics and function of film title are expounded, and the definition of reception aesthetics theory is emphasized. Finally, the author expounds in detail how reception aesthetics is applied to translation and even film title translation. Chapter four discusses the techniques of film title translation based on the theory of reception aesthetics. The main reasons that influence the choice of translation skills and the contrast between the mainland, Hong Kong and Taiwan in the translation of film titles are also discussed in the last chapter.
