中国小学英语教材中的性别偏见研究

  本研究试图探究中国小学英语教材中是否有性别偏见。研究材料为在三套小学英语教材(译林小学英语YPE、牛津小学英语(上海版)OPE、人教版小学英语PPE)的基础上自建的教材语料库OYPPETC(含三个子语料库OPETC、YPETC、PPETC)。本研究以Theo van Leeuwen提出的社会作用力表征理论为框架,从Inclusion,Functionalization,Role allocation,Nomination 以及 Association 五个方面探究中国小学英语教材在表征女性及男性的过程中是否存在性别偏见。研究结果表明,总语料库OYPPETC中存在性别偏见,主要体现在:(1)在不同的场景中,女性和男性的出现比例有显著差异,女性多出现在有关购物,衣食起居,室内活动的场景中,男性多出现在有关体育,娱乐,室外活动的场景中;(2)男性职业的多样性以及高风险高回报的职业数量超过女性,并且仅在展现男性职业的过程中,存在提升男性社会角色形象和地位的主观描述;(3)在家庭环境中,女性的非正式称呼多于男性,体现出女性和孩子的亲密关系。男性的正式称呼多于女性,体现出孩子对男性的尊重。但是也可...
