《印第安纳波利斯号：海难与昭雪》（节选）英汉翻译实践报告

　　本文是一篇翻译实践报告,所翻译文本来源于美国《纽约时报》畅销书作家莱恩·文森特（Lynn Vincent）和美国知名纪录片制片人萨拉·弗拉迪克（Sara Vladic）合著的军事类纪实作品《印第安纳波利斯号:海难与昭雪》（Indianapolis:The True Story of the Worst Sea Disaster in U.S.Naval History and the Fifty-Year Fight to Exonerate an Innocent Man）。译者节选了此书的前言和第一部作为翻译实践。该书主要是关于印第安纳波利斯号,二战美国海军波特兰级重型巡洋舰,以及舰长查尔斯·麦克维的真实事件。印第安纳波利斯号在完成任务返航期间被日军鱼雷击沉。但美国海军管理疏忽,导致大部分幸存者在之后几天死于脱水,受伤,鲨鱼袭击。而舰长查尔斯·麦克维三世（Charles MacVayⅢ）也因此被告上法庭,罪名是指挥不当。尽管最后麦克维上校是无辜的,他还是不堪忍受谴责而自杀。幸存的船员们50年来不断奔波,历经十三任美国总统,舰长才得以昭雪。由于原著是带有军事性质的纪实文学,讲述大多是...
