【摘要】：正装饰艺术[decorative arts]中最有名的概念之一"acanthus",到目前为止主要有这样一些汉译:莨苕叶饰、爵床叶饰、(老鼠|)叶形装饰、叶蓟文样、毛茛叶饰、茛個叶饰;但是诸多的译语实际上指的是同一种装饰母题。因此要确立一种没有歧义的汉语译词,就应该追溯它的词源,并据此对其做标准化处理而无需去追求译语的首创之功。我们可以从差不多一百年来流行的几本英汉词典对"acanthus"的释义来考察几个译语的来源。如我国首开"举例法"
