元认知策略在非英语专业大学生英语听力中培养的实验研究

【摘要】：听力理解作为第二语言学习的核心技能之一,在日常交流、学习和教学中起着极其重要的作用。听力的提高也为其他语言学习技能的提高发挥了积极作用。随着以学生为中心的教学模式的广泛发展,越来越多的学者开始关注并研究语言学习中的个人因素,例如在英语学习的过程中的学习者的情感因素以及元认知因素。如今已有一些文献研究元认知策略和英语听力能力、学习焦虑和英语听力能力之间的关系。然而长期以来,元认知策略和外语焦虑的研究一直是两个独立的研究领域,它们二者之间的直接关系的研究是较为少见的。因此,本论文主要探讨在元认知策略的培养之下,学习者的听力焦虑是否有所降低,以及学习者听力能力是否显著提高,研究的最终目的是探寻有效的方法来提高学习者的听力水平。本次研究的被试是来自石家庄学院2015级非英语专业的大一新生。作者首先采用元认知意识听问卷和外语听力焦虑量表进行问卷调查,调查非英语专业新生的元认知意识和听力焦虑的现状。之后对被试进英语听力前测,在实验之前找出两个班学生听力总体水平不存在显著性差异,然后采用元认知策略来培养实验班,控制班则采取传统教学模式。经过一个学期的训练,作者再次发放外语听力焦虑量表,发现实验班的听力焦虑显著得到缓解。在学期末,两个平行班的学生被要求再次进行听力后测,最后,所有收集的数据通过SPSS 16.0进行分析。研究结果表明,元认知策略的培养一方面对听力焦虑的缓解有积极影响,另一方面通过学习者听力焦虑的缓解,元认知策略有助于提高学习者的英语听力能力。最后,本研究为以后的研究和教学提出以下几点建议:首先,教师应创造一个低焦虑的听力环境来缓解听者的焦虑从而提高听力水平。其次,学生在听力过程中应主动采取合适的学习策略来应对。此外,元认知策略的培养应该结合听力技能的训练,来探索提高大学生的听力水平的有效方法。
