功能语言学视角下中国古典散文英译中的显化研究

随着我国综合国力的增强,中国传统文化不断被介绍到国外。中国典籍,作为中国传统文化中不可忽视的元素,被译成各种语言,其中包括诗歌、小说和戏剧。根据众多学者研究的结果,汉语属于语义型语言,常采用意合法,而英语属于形态型语言,常采用形合法。这说明汉语是隐性的,英语是显性的。古典散文运用的是古汉语,其隐化程度高于现代汉语。因此在汉译英时,译者需要将原文中隐去的部分显化出来,这样不仅符合英语表达习惯,而且使得文章更加通俗易懂。显化,作为翻译过程中的一种普遍现象,引起了许多学者的关注,最早注意到翻译显化这一现象的是Vinay和Darbelnet。随后关于显化的研究层出不穷,但国内研究起步较晚,开始于20世纪末21世纪初。目前大多数显化研究的对象集中在小说语篇,政治经济语篇,科学语篇和学术语篇,很少以中国古典散文为研究对象,并且从系统功能语言学角度研究显化现象的文章更少。因此本文以定性分析为主、定量分析为辅,在系统功能语言学框架下,探究中国古典散文英译本中经验意义、人际意义和语篇意义的显化,并讨论其显化方式和潜在的显化动因。研究结果表明,三种元功能意义在英译文中都被显化。就经验意义而言,关系过程和物...
