The United States and Canada:The Land and the People（节选）汉译实践

　　随着经济和社会的不断发展,人们逐渐意识到人与自然关系和谐发展的重要性。学习人文地理知识可以帮助人们了解人与地理环境之间的关系,使人们合理利用与改造地理环境来实现可持续发展。鉴于此,翻译国外人文地理类的优秀著作可以让目的语国家的人们学习、了解国外的人文地理知识,以起到他山之石可以攻玉的作用。笔者翻译了《美国和加拿大:土地与人民》部分内容。该书是一部有关人文地理的优秀著作,书中主要探讨了地理环境与人们生活的关系,内容丰富、语言客观、极具可读性。本报告以笔者的这一翻译实践为研究对象。报告简要地介绍了翻译项目,归纳了原文本在词汇、句法和语篇方面的特点,并对本文分析所运用的关联理论进行了简要的阐述。关联理论认为翻译是两次明示—推理的交际过程。在第一次明示—推理过程中,译者以读者的身份推导出原作者的信息和交际意图。在第二次明示—推理过程中,译者需要考虑目的语读者的认知语境,准确地向目的语读者传达原文作者的意图。在翻译过程中,译者应以实现最佳关联为目标,确保目的语读者无需付出不必要的努力就能获得足够的语境效果。原文本在词汇上多用专有名词、专业术语和缩写词,句法上频繁使用长难句和被动句,语篇上注重逻辑...
