【摘要】：本文是一篇英译中的翻译报告。原文选自《逆境才是正道:将考验转变为胜利的永恒艺术》一书。该书作者瑞安·霍利迪通过玛克斯·奥勒留,约翰D.洛克菲勒等名人的故事介绍了斯多葛学派的哲学,即在你遇到危机或灾难时,要控制住情绪,进而思考出化险为夷的方法。该书在2014年被评选为15本最佳商业畅销书之一,深受国内外读者的喜爱。译者翻译这一章节是通过以下步骤:翻译之前的准备,文本的翻译分析以及翻译总结。译者选取了文章的标题和章节中的典型词句进行分析,并说明译者对此采取的翻译技巧(如:增词法)和策略(如:句式重构)。在翻译过程中,译者得到了一些结论。首先,译者在译前准备阶段查阅相关书籍和上网搜索相关信息,找到文中一些专有名词和名言约定俗成的中文翻译。其次,译者运用已学的翻译技巧和策略,使译文更加精确、地道。译者应该将已学的翻译理论和翻译实践进行有机结合。若遇到不太容易翻译的,可通过上下文语境,结合人物性格进行翻译。此外,译者要注意英汉两种语言的区别,避免出现错误。最后,要想翻译好一篇文章还需反复推敲译文,争取对原文最大限度地“还原”。
