信息论视角下的《奥运会历史》（节选）汉译实践报告

　　《奥运会历史》是大卫·戈德布拉特的代表作,源文本在国外极具畅销,讲述了奥运会的发展历史、重大奥运会赛事以及运动项目的演变历史。本书共九章,本论文是对第二章“博览会的所有乐趣所在:‘美好时代’落幕前的奥运会”进行的翻译实践报告。此文本为偏记叙文文体,全文语言记叙说明为主,多为复杂句长句,亦长短句结合。在翻译时,笔者遇到的问题主要有两种:一种为源文本中大段的长难句,短时难以分清结构,笔者发现文本中存在很多影响目标读者解码能力的冗余信息;另一种来源于源文本的跳跃性,上下文之间无明显衔接词,文本缺省了许多源文本读者已知但目标读者不知的背景信息,这些背景信息是应当存在且必须的冗余。针对翻译中遇到的第一个长难句和大量冗余信息的问题,笔者主要采取删减,压缩信息的方式,减少文本的冗余度来缓解读者阅读的疲劳与烦躁,给予读者继续阅读的信心与动力;而对于翻译中遇到的第二个问题,即源文本中缺省了许多源文本读者已知但目标读者不知的背景信息,这些背景信息是应当存在且必须的冗余,笔者主要采取增译手段,增加文本的冗余度来弥补信息的缺省部分,来提高读者对信息的解读能力。当然,在主要运用增译和删减这两种翻译技巧之外,不可...
