翻译过程中翻译单位的实证研究

　　上世纪八十年代以来,中国译学界学者开始关注翻译单位的研究。基于文本层面理论研究的局限性,越来越多的学者开始采用有声思维法对翻译过程中的翻译单位进行实证研究。本文将借助有声思维法对译者在翻译过程中所使用的翻译单位进行研究,进而探索译者的内在翻译过程。笔者选取了 15名华北电力大学外国语学院研究生作为受试,通过有声思维法探索受试者进行英汉互译的内在思维过程,并对获取的实验数据进行编码整理和分析,提取受试者使用的翻译单位,描述其使用翻译单位的大小和分布情况。同时,根据有声思维报告,笔者发现了翻译过程中受试选择的翻译单位和翻译质量的关系并探讨了影响翻译单位选择的因素。本研究发现:1)英译互译中,句子是受试者基本的分析单位,小句是最主要的综合单位,但其他单位包括词和短语也不可忽视,它们在受试使用的翻译单位中占有相当比重。2)分析单位集中分布于两个临近的单位,即小句和句子,这体现了译者倾向于找一种“标准分析单位”的心理;综合单位则分散在词,词组,小句和句子四个单位上,这表明在实际翻译中,受试选择的翻译单位和具体出现的翻译问题具有相关性。3)英汉互译翻译过程中各个级别的翻译单位比例不同,表明英译汉和...
