《发现者旅行指南-湖北》(节选)英译实践报告

湖北省位于长江中游平原,拥有丰富的自然和人文旅游资源。然而,由于相关旅游文本的翻译存在数量和质量的不足,其旅游资源的对外推广也受到一定的限制。为了进一步提高湖北省在国际旅游上的知名度,有必要对该地旅游资源的对外译介问题进行研究。《发现者旅行指南——湖北》一书详细介绍了湖北省九个重点旅游城市及地区的旅游信息,为有意前来观光的游客提供了一份详尽实用的指南。将这一文本英译,使其走向国际,能够吸引更多外国游客前来湖北旅游,从而扩大湖北省的国际影响力。本文以《发现者旅行指南——湖北》的英译为研究对象,以莱斯的文本类型理论为指导,探讨了在文本的功能与类型影响下旅游文本的英译方法。根据莱斯的文本类型理论,文本可以分为信息型文本、表情型文本、呼唤型文本和视听型文本四种类型。不同类型的文本应该采取不同的翻译方法。本文所用的翻译材料属于实用旅游文本,该文本以提供客观旅游信息为主,最终为了实现吸引读者前来旅游的目的,因此属于信息功能为主、呼唤功能为辅的复合型文本。笔者为了从景点名称的隐含信息,文化负载词的特定信息以及散文句式的内在信息逻辑三个方面再现译文的信息功能,分别采取了意译、增译和重组的翻译方法。此外...
