美国9/11事件集体记忆的塑造和国家身份认同

  2001年9月11日恐怖分子袭击美国五角大楼和世贸中心,3000余人在此事件中丧生,这是美国本土首次发生的大规模恐怖事件,严重打破了美国人的平静和安全感。9/11事件给美国民众造成了巨大的创伤和悲痛,但是在美国人的集体记忆中,该事件带来的创伤并没有持久存在,取而代之的是浓厚的爱国主义、例外主义和英雄主义。本文通过分析2001年至2019年期间美国总统关于9/11的演讲、《纽约时报》的有关报道和和9/11电影,展现了美国塑造9/11集体记忆的过程,揭示了记忆塑造如何强化了国家认同,并为美国的对外干涉政策提供了合法性支持。论文也指出,记忆总是与遗忘并存的。美国政治和社会精英群体在塑造9/11正面记忆的同时,也有意将9/11带来的个人伤痛搁置,同时也遗忘了美国人为什么会遭致仇恨的问题。美国9/11记忆具有高度的选择性,也具有浓厚的政治和意识形态色彩。
