【摘要】：中国陶瓷文化是中国传统文化的重要组成部分。陶瓷文本具有专业性强、信息量多、文化负载词多等特点。准确传达陶瓷文本的基本含义及其背后的文化内涵有助于外国人了解中国的传统民俗文化,感受中国人民的智慧、审美价值。本报告是基于冯先铭先生主编的《中国陶瓷》中第五编第一章和第二章的汉译英翻译实践报告。选译内容系统介绍了青花瓷、釉里红瓷器、色釉瓷的相关内容,共约11000多字。已有的陶瓷文本的英译多以传统翻译理论为指导,研究陶瓷文本中的某一具体问题,如词汇、术语、作品名等,但这类研究缺乏整体性视角。通过分析陶瓷文本的特性,笔者认为陶瓷文本英译可选用变译理论为指导,认为译者在原材料基础上采取适当的变通手段,以增强译文的可读性。本报告主要探讨陶瓷英译实践中的四个问题及采取相应的翻译策略：四字格,主要采用改译法；特定文化词,主要采用阐译法；长句难句,主要采用改译法和摘译法；信息过量,主要采用编译法。本实践报告表明,对于陶瓷文本的英译,译者需要充分考虑到其文本的特质,根据翻译的要求,采用恰当的翻译方法和技巧。同时,译者应当以适宜的翻译理论为指导,灵活运用翻译技巧,以便更加充分地传达原文的意义。
