关联理论视角下《诗经》中反复的翻译研究

【摘要】：反复是一种普遍存在的语言现象,尤常见于文学作品。其最早出现于《诗经》中,用来实现某些特殊目的。作为儒家的经典著作之一,《诗经》在中西交流中发挥着重要作用。因此,对《诗经》中反复的翻译进行研究具有重要意义。本文旨在以关联理论为主要分析框架,探讨《诗经》中反复的翻译。本文尝试回答以下两个问题：1)现有的译文是否准确地译出反复这一语言特色?2)在关联理论的指导下,如何将《诗经》中字词和句子层面的反复在目的语中很好地再现?作者搜集了现有的五个较有影响力的《诗经》英译本,并从中选取十二例用于研究分析,通过实例比较各版本的译文,得出各版本在反复的翻译方面的优点和缺陷。由于《诗经》中反复的多样性,本文着重研究词汇层面的完全反复和句子层面的不完全反复的翻译,并根据词性和关联性分别对这两类反复进行再分类。研究发现,在字词反复的翻译方面,作为拟声词的反复在译文中多数并未采用拟声词,而是用形容词或动词来替代,少数的译文在形式和意义上采用了完全对等的词语；作为名词和动词的反复在译文中多侧重意义层面,放弃了严格的反复的形式；作为形容词的反复在译文中通常使用两个近义形容词,也存在将反复形容词译成其他词性的情况。从句子层面反复的翻译来看,不论是各句处于平行关系的回环往复结构,还是各句关联性更高的层层递进结构,译文在很大程度上取决于句子整体以及不同部分的翻译。对于在《诗经》翻译中如何处理反复的问题,作者认为基于最佳关联原则,反复翻译需要实现原作者的意图和译文读者的期盼的吻合。因此,并非意义和形式的完全对等才是反复的最佳翻译。在字词层面反复的翻译上,作者建议在形式不对等的情况下,可以采用押韵(包括头韵、谐元韵和尾韵)这一策略来弥补。而对于句子层面反复的翻译,作者建议在句型保持一致的前提下,注意变化部分的翻译,借助于这一部分在整体中所起的作用以及译文读者的认知语境来实现最恰当的翻译。最后,本文在比较与分析的基础上,不仅从理论上证实了关联理论的阐释力,而且也从实践上表明了反复在诗歌翻译中可以得到最佳的还原,并以期对《诗经》乃至其他诗歌中反复的翻译研究提供启示。
