对新版义务教育英语教科书Go For It的评价

【摘要】:随着基础教育改革实施和外语外语教学发展,各种版本的初中英语教材纷纷出版供各类中学选择。面对不同教材,教师会碰到难以取舍的问题。此外,在使用某一种教师的过程中教师也会对教材内容进行修改、替换、取舍或调整、以便有针对性地帮助学生更有效地学好英语,由此可见对教材进行系统行评价就十分必要。教材评价既可以向教材编写者提供教材改进意见,也可以向教育行政部门在选择教材时提供更有说服力的依据。全套新版义务教育英语教科书Go For It共五册(教育部2012、2013年审定),是根据《九年义务教育全日制初级中学英语教学大纲(试用修订版)》和《义务教育英语课程标准》(2011年版)的精神,在2002年开始使用的人民教育出版社和美国Thomson Learning出版集团合编的《义务教育课程实验标准教科书英语》Go For It的基础上修订而成的。新教材2012年秋季在初一开始使用,2015年夏季全套教材替换完成。本套教材在全国范围内广泛使用,所以对其质量进行评价是很有价值的。本研究参照国内外外语教材评价理论和标准,根据教材的功能和英语学科的特点,以教育部《义务教育英语课程标准》(2011年版)为主要依据,从五个方面确立了十个标准对新教材进行了评价,并在此基础上整理和总结相关参考文献及信息资料、提出问题、编写制定调查问卷内容、以问卷形式对老师及学生进行调研。通过问卷调查和评价,本研究得出新版义务教育英语教科书Go For It有一些非常突出的优点:新教材不仅反映了外语教学的“工具性”,同时兼具“人文性”;新教材倡导采用话题、功能、结构、任务相结合的任务型教学方法,教学方法先进;新教材内容贴近学生、贴近生活、贴近时代,具有广泛性、思想性和时代性;新教材的编排十分灵活;新教材评价内容和方式多样,充分体现了“以人为本”和“以学生为主体”,突出了学生在评价中的主体地位。新教材主要不足之处表现在:新教材中城市生活内容较多,与农村学生生活相差比较远;新教材配套资料比较少,有待于进一步补充和完善。新教材词汇量和阅读量偏大,教学任务偏重,一般学校难以完成。本研究还对新教材的使用提出了两点意见,包括科学灵活处理教材内容(添加、删减、修改或替换、调整)、改进和优化教学方法。本研究的目的是供教材使用者在选择和使用教材、编写者推广教材时提供参考依据,帮助人们对新教材的质量做出相对客观、科学的判断。
[Abstract]:With the implementation of basic education reform and the development of foreign language teaching, various versions of junior high school English textbooks have been published for all kinds of middle schools to choose from.In the face of different teaching materials, teachers will encounter problems that are difficult to choose.In addition, in the process of using a certain kind of teacher, the teacher will modify, replace, choose or adjust the content of the textbook in order to help students learn English more effectively.Thus, it is necessary to evaluate the teaching materials systematically.The evaluation of teaching materials can not only provide the textbook writers with advice on the improvement of teaching materials, but also provide a more convincing basis for the educational administrative departments to choose the teaching materials.Go For it, a full set of new compulsory education English textbooks in five volumes (approved by the Ministry of Education in 2012 and 2013), is based on the English syllabus (trial revision) for full-time junior middle schools for nine-year compulsory education and the English Curriculum Standards for compulsory EducationThe spirit of (2011 edition),It was revised on the basis of go For it, which was compiled by the people's Education Publishing House and Thomson Learning Publishing Group in 2002.The new textbook began to be used in the first day of 2012, and the complete set of teaching materials was replaced in summer 2015.This set of textbooks is widely used all over the country, so it is very valuable to evaluate its quality.According to the evaluation theories and standards of foreign language teaching materials at home and abroad, and according to the functions of the textbooks and the characteristics of English subjects, this study is mainly based on the English Curriculum Standards for compulsory Education (2011 edition) of the Ministry of Education.Ten standards were established to evaluate the new textbook from five aspects, and on the basis of this, related references and information materials were sorted out and summarized, questions were raised, questionnaire contents were compiled, and teachers and students were investigated in the form of questionnaires.Through questionnaire survey and evaluation, this study concludes that the new edition of go For it has some outstanding advantages: the new textbook not only reflects the "tool" of foreign language teaching, but also has "humanity";The new teaching material advocates the use of task-based teaching method combining topic, function, structure and task, and the advanced teaching method, the content of the new textbook is close to students, close to life, close to the times, and it is extensive, ideological and contemporary.The arrangement of the new textbook is very flexible, and the contents and ways of the evaluation of the new textbook are various, which fully reflects the "people-oriented" and "student-oriented", and highlights the main position of the students in the evaluation.The main shortcomings of the new textbooks are: the content of urban life in the new textbooks is more than that of the rural students, and the new textbooks have less supporting materials, which need to be further supplemented and improved.The vocabulary and reading of the new textbooks are too large and the teaching tasks are too heavy to be completed in general schools.This study also puts forward two suggestions on the use of new teaching materials, including scientific and flexible processing of teaching materials (add, delete, modify or replace, adjust, improve and optimize teaching methods.The purpose of this study is to provide a reference for the users to choose and use the textbook, and to help the people to make a relatively objective and scientific judgment on the quality of the new textbook.
