高中英语词汇合作学习的有效性研究

【摘要】:词汇,作为语言的三大要素之一,是构成语言的材料。所以学好英语这门语言,必须重视英语词汇的学习,词汇教学是高中英语教学的重点和难点。词汇学习的质量直接影响到学习者学习的进度和速度,只有掌握了一定的单词量才能有效地进行阅读和写作,以及日常的英语交流。高中英语教育对英语学习者来说是打基础与提高的阶段,要培养学生全面的听说读写能力,而其首要的要素便是提高词汇量。新颁布的《英语课程标准》(高中英语)中对词汇量提高了要求,因此要在教学实践中探索新的有效的词汇教学方法。合作学习作为一种非常有效又富有新意的教学策略,已经广泛应用于英语教学中,并取得了很好的效果。它在提高学生学业成绩,促进学生非认知品质的发展,及改善课堂内的社会心理氛围等方面发挥着积极的作用。但遗憾的是,合作学习在高中英语词汇教学中的应用并不是很多。本研究试运用合作学习理论指导高中英语词汇教学,探索高中英语词汇教学新形式。研究围绕以下两个问题展开:(1)合作学习式的词汇教学方法是否比传统的教学方法更有效?(2)在运用合作学习指导词汇教学中存在什么问题?实验开始前对两个班进行词汇前测,结果表明实验班和控制班的词汇水平相当。然后进行实验,实验受试对象是邢台市第十九中(普通高中)高二年级的两个平行班,实验班运用合作学习的方法进行高中英语词汇教学,而对照班仍采用传统词汇教学方式。在为期三个月的教学实验结束后,对两个班进行词汇后测,对实验班的学生进行访谈,并利用社会科学软件包SPSS16.0进行独立样本t检验。研究发现,实验班后测成绩明显比对照班的高,说明合作学习式的词汇教学方法比传统的词汇教学更有效,学习效果更显著。但是在运用合作式的词汇教学方法的实验中也遇到了一些问题,比如学生不能准确地理解教师的要求,学生的参与不平衡,缺乏英语交流,重复犯同样的错误等等。通过访谈,教师提出了一些可行性的解决方案。本研究的发现对于探索高中英语词汇教学的新思路能够提供启示。
[Abstract]:Vocabulary, as one of the three elements of language, is the material of language. Therefore, to learn English as a language, we must pay attention to the study of English vocabulary, vocabulary teaching is the focus and difficulty of English teaching in senior high school. The quality of vocabulary learning has a direct impact on the progress and speed of learners' learning. Only by mastering a certain number of words can we effectively read and write, as well as communicate in English on a daily basis. High school English education is a basic and improving stage for English learners. It is necessary to cultivate students' comprehensive listening, speaking, reading and writing ability, and the most important factor is to improve their vocabulary. The new English Curriculum Standard (Senior English) has raised the requirement of vocabulary size, so we should explore new effective vocabulary teaching methods in teaching practice. Cooperative learning, as a very effective and innovative teaching strategy, has been widely used in English teaching and has achieved good results. It plays an active role in improving students' academic achievement, promoting the development of students' non-cognitive quality and improving the social and psychological atmosphere in the classroom. Unfortunately, cooperative learning is not widely used in high school English vocabulary teaching. This study tries to apply cooperative learning theory to guide senior high school English vocabulary teaching and explore new forms of high school English vocabulary teaching. The study focuses on the following two questions: 1) is the cooperative learning vocabulary teaching method more effective than the traditional teaching method? (2) what are the problems in applying cooperative learning to guide vocabulary teaching? The results show that the vocabulary level of the experimental class and the control class is the same as that of the control class. Then the experiment was carried out. The subjects were two parallel classes in the second grade in Xingtai No. 19 Middle School. The experimental class used the cooperative learning method to carry out English vocabulary teaching in senior high school, while the control class still adopted the traditional vocabulary teaching method. At the end of the three-month teaching experiment, the two classes were tested with vocabulary posttest, the students in the experimental class were interviewed, and the independent sample t-test was carried out by using SPSS 16.0 software package. It is found that the post-test results of the experimental class are significantly higher than those of the control class, indicating that the cooperative learning vocabulary teaching method is more effective than the traditional vocabulary teaching method, and the learning effect is more remarkable. However, some problems have been encountered in the experiment of cooperative vocabulary teaching, such as students' inability to understand teachers' requirements accurately, the imbalance of students' participation, the lack of communication in English, the repeated making of the same mistakes, and so on. Through interviews, teachers put forward some feasible solutions. The findings of this study can provide inspiration for exploring new ways of English vocabulary teaching in senior high school.
