学术与政治:胡适校长的双重角色解读

【摘要】：作为掌舵人的民国大学校长是中国现代大学制度的先行者、奠基人,承担着中国高等教育现代化的历史重任,同时面对政治环境中的激烈碰撞,感受着安身立命之环境的变化,经世致用的文化基因指引他们投身于满足社会发展的需要以及致力于增进社会政治变革等活动中。因此置身其间的民国大学校长普遍具有"学术人"和"政治人"双重角色,具备学术与政治的双重关怀。胡适作为民国时期著名大学校长,尽管立志于学术,却在时事危亡的时代环境中无法忘情于政治,不断在学术与政治之间徘徊,明显存在依违两可的矛盾心态。民国时期特殊的历史情境使得学术与政治的双重追求之间总是存在着难以调和的矛盾与冲突,并由此导致胡适校长产生难以摆脱的困惑与身心煎熬。胡适的人生境遇为我们深刻解读民国大学校长的生存样态提供极好的范本,具有一定价值且富有典型意义。
[Abstract]:The president of the Republic of China University is the forerunner and founder of the modern university system in China. He is shouldering the historical responsibility of the modernization of higher education in China. At the same time, facing the fierce collision in the political environment, he feels the change of the living environment. Utilitarian cultural genes guide them to meet the needs of social development and to promote social and political change and other activities. Therefore, the presidents of the Republic of China generally have the dual roles of "academic person" and "political person", with the dual concern of academic and political. As a famous university president in the Republic of China, although determined to study, Hu Shi can not forget politics in the times of current affairs crisis, and is constantly wandering between the academic and political, which obviously has the contradictory mentality of depending on the two sides. During the period of the Republic of China, the special historical situation made the dual pursuit of academic and political always exist irreconcilable contradictions and conflicts, which led to the puzzlement and physical and mental suffering of the principal of Hu Shi. Hu Shi's life situation provides an excellent model for us to understand the existence of the university presidents of the Republic of China, which is of certain value and typical significance.
