从顺应论角度看《三体》中的新词翻译

【摘要】：近年来随着中国科幻小说的迅速发展,如何推进中国科幻小说的翻译成为时下中国科幻文学走向世界的主要课题。本文以顺应论为理论框架,从动态顺应的角度来分析中国当代最具代表性的科幻小说《三体》中的新词翻译,主要解决以下三个问题:一、《三体》中的新词翻译是如何反映出顺应论的动态顺应原则。二、译者为顺应不同层面而采取了哪些翻译策略和方法。三、译者在《三体》中新词的翻译特点或原则是什么。针对上述研究问题,本文首先根据新词的定义收集整理出《三体》中具有代表性的新词,并对其进行分类列举;其次使用顺应论对所选的新词逐一进行定性分析,由此总结出译者刘宇昆在翻译过程中所顺应的主要方面以及所采取的主要翻译策略;最后本文根据分析尝试构建在语言顺应论视角下《三体》中新词翻译的翻译流程图,探讨《三体》中新词翻译的特点和译者刘宇昆的翻译原则。经过研究发现,《三体》中的新词翻译体现出译者刘宇昆为达到一定的翻译目的,在不同的意识程度下对语境关系层面和语言结构层面做出的动态顺应。为了动态顺应不同层面,译者也会选择不同的翻译方法,包括直译、意译、回译、增译、音译或者省译,其中直译成为《三体》新词翻译中最频繁使用的翻译手段。通过新词翻译过程和策略的分析,本文总结出《三体》中新词翻译的三大特点:结构陌生化,意义异化和语言可理解性强。本文试图为科幻新词翻译中的英汉及汉英互译过程探索一个新的可行的语用翻译路径,开拓顺应论在科幻新词翻译中的应用,期待对中国科幻小说翻译有一定的启示和借鉴意义,也对译者培养翻译能力和发挥译者主体性有一定的指导意义。
[Abstract]:In recent years, with the rapid development of Chinese science fiction, how to promote the translation of Chinese science fiction has become the main topic of Chinese science fiction literature in the world. From the angle of dynamic adaptation, this paper analyzes the translation of neologisms in the most representative sci-fi novel "Three-body" in China, and mainly solves the following three problems: first, how does the translation of neologisms in "Three-body" reflect the dynamic adaptation principle of adaptation Theory? What translation strategies and methods have the translator adopted to adapt to different levels? thirdly, what are the characteristics or principles of the translator's translation of neologisms in Triple body? First of all, according to the definition of new words, we collect and sort out the representative new words in "three-body", and then use adaptation theory to make qualitative analysis of the selected new words one by one. This paper summarizes the main aspects of the translator Liu Yu-kun 's adaptation in the process of translation and the main translation strategies he adopts. Finally, the thesis attempts to construct a flow chart of the translation of neologisms from the perspective of linguistic adaptation Theory. This paper probes into the characteristics of neologisms translation and the translation principles of the translator Liu Yu-kun. It is found that the translation of neologisms in "three-body" shows that the translator Liu Yu-kun is trying to achieve a certain translation purpose. Dynamic adaptation to contextual relationship and language structure at different levels of consciousness. In order to adapt dynamically to different levels, translators also choose different translation methods, including literal translation, free translation, back translation, incremental translation, transliteration, or provincial translation. Literal translation has become the most frequently used method in the translation of neologisms. Through the analysis of the process and strategy of neologism translation, this paper summarizes the three characteristics of neologism translation: structural defamiliarization. This paper attempts to explore a new and feasible pragmatic translation approach for the translation of sci-fi neologisms between English and Chinese, and to explore the application of adaptation theory in the translation of sci-fi neologisms. It is expected that it will provide some enlightenment and reference to the translation of Chinese sci-fi novels, as well as guide the translator to cultivate his translation ability and give full play to the translator's subjectivity.
