学习者硕士论文与国际期刊论文增强语扩展意义单位对比研究

【摘要】:增强语表示语义程度上的强化,具有加强语气的作用。在人际功能方面,增强语不仅可以传达人际信息,而且可以表明个人承诺以及个人对真理和价值的判断。以往研究表明,学习者在增强语的使用方面存在问题,但多数以口语或议论文为体裁,并仅以频率,搭配,类联接,语义韵方面为单一的考察点,以学术论文为体裁,从扩展意义单位模型进行的研究较少。鉴于此,本文基于学习者硕士论文语料库和国际期刊论文语料库,通过扩展意义单位模型,试图找出两个语料库中增强语的意义单位特征,对比二者的异同。本文研究问题包括:(1)学习者硕士论文与国际期刊论文中高频增强语的扩展意义单位分别有何特征?(2)学习者硕士论文与国际期刊论文中高频增强语在意义单位上有何异同?具体研究步骤如下:基于学习者硕士论文语料库和国际期刊语料库,本文使用BFSU PowerConc1.0分别对两个语料库中的增强语进行逐一检索并统计频数,确定高频增强语,其中包括4个最高程度语和2个提高程度语;然后通过扩展意义单位模型找出这6个高频增强语的意义单位并加以对比分析,分析它们在两个语料库中的异同。结果发现:(1)总体来说,高频增强语的扩展意义单位在两个语料库中虽然在搭配和类联接层面上具有相似性,但在其语义倾向和语义韵层面上具有较大差异性。(2)搭配和类联接层面上,与国际期刊作者相比,学习者在部分最高程度语的搭配上比较单一,缺乏多样性;部分最高程度语的搭配倾向于过度使用;学习者语料库中部分最高程度语会出现期刊作者很少使用的类联接型式。这一现象可能是受母语迁移的影响。(3)语义倾向和语义韵层面上,学习者在部分最高程度语和提高程度语的搭配中倾向于主观判断,而国际期刊作者更倾向于客观表达。部分学习者在部分最高程度语和提高程度语的搭配词使用上出现语义韵混用现象,这表明学习者的语用意识淡薄,往往忽视语用意义之间的差异。本研究表明,学习者在增强语的搭配和类联接层面上和国际期刊作者相比具有一定相似性,但在语义韵层面上会出现较大差异,从而影响学习者学术态度的表达和学术观点的可信度。建议学习者以后在学术英语写作中应从整个扩展意义单位准确把握每个增强语的意义单位,以期提高学术论文的写作质量。
[Abstract]:Intensifier denotes the reinforcement of semantic degree and plays an important role in strengthening mood.In the aspect of interpersonal function, reinforcement can not only convey interpersonal information, but also indicate personal commitment and individual judgment of truth and value.Previous studies have shown that learners have problems in the use of reinforcement language, but most of them use oral language or argumentation as their genre, and only use frequency, collocation, class connection, semantic prosody as a single point of study, and academic papers as a genre.The research on extended meaning unit model is less.In view of this, based on the corpus of Learner's Master's thesis and the corpus of international periodical thesis, this paper attempts to find out the features of semantic units in the two corpora by extending the model of semantic unit, and compares the similarities and differences between them.The research questions include: (1) what are the characteristics of the extended meaning units of high frequency enhancement in master thesis and international periodical thesis) what are the similarities and differences between high frequency enhancement and high frequency enhancement on the meaning unit of master thesis and international periodical thesis?The research steps are as follows: based on the corpus of Learner's Master's thesis and the corpus of international journals, this paper uses BFSU PowerConc1.0 to retrieve the intensifiers of the two corpora one by one and count the frequency to determine the high-frequency enhancement.It consists of four maximums and two enhanced ones, and then finds out the meaning units of the six high frequency intensifiers by the extended semantic unit model and analyzes their similarities and differences in the two corpora.The results showed that, in general, the extended meaning units of high frequency intensifiers were similar in collocation and class connection in two corpora.However, at the level of semantic tendency and semantic prosody, there is a great difference in collocation and category connection. Compared with international journal authors, learners have a relatively simple collocation of some of the highest level of language and lack of diversity.The collocation of part of the maximum degree language tends to be overused; some of the highest degree language in the learners' corpus will appear the type of class join which is seldom used by periodical writers.This phenomenon may be influenced by the transfer of mother tongue.) on the semantic tendency and semantic prosody level, learners tend to subjective judgment in the collocation of part of the maximum degree language and the improved degree language, while the international journal writers tend to express objectively.Some learners have mixed use of semantic prosody in the use of the collocation of some maximum degree language and improved degree language, which indicates that the learners' pragmatic awareness is weak and the differences between pragmatic meanings are often ignored.The present study shows that learners are similar to international journal authors in terms of collocation and class connection, but there are significant differences in semantic prosody.This will affect the academic attitude of learners and the credibility of academic views.In order to improve the writing quality of academic papers, it is suggested that learners should accurately grasp the meaning units of each enhancement language from the whole extended meaning unit in academic English writing.
