《聊斋志异》翟理斯英译本中的形象重塑

【摘要】:翻译不仅涉及到语言层面的转换,也牵涉到形象的转换。对于翻译作品而言,形象首先由源文本作者构建,而后又由译者在译文中再次加以构建,最终形成译文中的形象,并传达给译文读者。在源文本中,作者是形象构建者。而在译文中,译者则是最直接的形象构建者。译者在翻译过程中,很难摆脱其文化身份、个人情感、知识、态度等的影响。从社会层面来看,形象构建是一种集体行为,因为它受到社会整体想象物的影响。社会整体想象物影响着作者对异国的看法和态度,继而会在译者选择和翻译文本的过程中发挥重要作用。《聊斋志异》是中国家喻户晓的一部经典文学著作,在中国文学史上占有重要地位。其文采优美,想象丰富,塑造了许多生动鲜明人物形象,也为研究当时社会提供了宝贵材料。迄今为止,《聊斋志异》已有20余种英译本。国内对《聊斋志异》英译本的研究方向众多,但仍缺乏对译本中的形象塑造的研究。然而,鲜明的形象塑造正是原文的一大特点,这一特点在不同的译本中是如何体现的,十分值得关注。因此,本文着力分析翟里斯译本中的形象塑造,探讨塑造方式。通过源文本和译文的比较研究,发现翻译造成的形象重塑,并运用比较文学形象学的理论,试图从社会整体想象物,译者,译者构建的形象与原作者构建的形象、中国社会的客观形象的角度展开分析。研究发现,译者塑造的形象总体分为意识形态和乌托邦两大类,社会整体想象物和译者在形象塑造中发挥了巨大作用。本论文对于这一问题的探讨,为研究翻译过程中的形象重塑提供了思路,同时也让该问题引起翻译研究领域学者们的注意,引起人们对翻译对形象的重塑这一现象的重视。
[Abstract]:Translation involves not only the transformation of language level, but also the transformation of image.As far as the translated works are concerned, the image is first constructed by the author of the source text and then re-constructed by the translator in the translation, and finally the image in the translation is formed and conveyed to the target reader.In the source text, the author is the image builder.In the translation, the translator is the most direct image builder.In the process of translation, it is difficult for translators to get rid of the influence of their cultural identity, personal emotion, knowledge, attitude and so on.From the social level, image construction is a collective behavior, because it is affected by the whole social imagination.Social imagination influences the author's views and attitudes towards foreign countries and then plays an important role in the process of the translator's choice and translation of the text. Liaozhai Zhiyi is a well-known classic literary work in China.It plays an important role in the history of Chinese literature.It has beautiful literary style, rich imagination, many vivid and vivid characters, and also provides valuable materials for the study of the society at that time.So far, there have been more than 20 English versions of Liaozhai.Although there are many research directions on the English translation of Liaozhai, there is still a lack of research on the image shaping in the translation.However, vivid image shaping is one of the major features of the original text, and how this feature is embodied in different versions is worthy of attention.Therefore, this paper analyzes the image shaping in Zhai Reese's translation, and probes into the shaping method.Through the comparative study of the source text and the target text, the author finds out the image reconstruction caused by translation, and attempts to construct the image of the whole society, the translator, the translator and the original author by using the theory of comparative literature imageology.The analysis of the objective image of Chinese society.It is found that the image created by the translator is divided into two categories: ideology and utopia, and the social imagination and the translator play a great role in shaping the image.This thesis not only provides some ideas for the study of image remodeling in translation, but also makes it attract the attention of scholars in the field of translation studies and people's attention to the phenomenon of image remodeling in translation.
