【摘要】：本文是一篇翻译报告,其所依据的原文选自《一心多用:高科技时代的古代大脑》(The Distracted Mind:Ancient Brains in a High-tech World)一书的第七章。该书由美国加州大学神经学教授、PBS专栏作家亚当·格萨里(Adam Gazzaley)与加利福尼亚州立大学心理学名誉教授拉里·罗森(Larry D.Rosen)合著,其语言专业严谨,又不失趣味。鉴于该书的研究对象为现时代背景下的社会普遍现象,并且给出了专业分析与指导,具有较高的阅读与翻译价值。因此,笔者在报告中首先阐述该翻译项目的背景与意义,而后针对项目过程中遇到的困难,如插入语的翻译、长难句的翻译等进行重点探讨,并在功能对等理论的指导下选取适当的翻译方法与技巧加以解决。最后,从宏观角度对整个项目包括翻译原文、翻译难点与解决方案以及笔者自身翻译水平进行梳理、总结与反思,以期在检验笔者专业能力的基础上,为国内读者带来具有一定阅读价值的译文。
[Abstract]:This is a translation report based on chapter 7 of the book multitasking: the Distracted Mind:Ancient Brains in a High-tech World. The book is co-authored by PBS columnist Adam Gazzaleyand Larry D. Rosenn, an emeritus professor of psychology at California State University. In view of the fact that the research object of the book is the social phenomenon in the contemporary context, and it gives professional analysis and guidance, it is of high value in reading and translation. Therefore, in the report, the background and significance of the translation project are first elaborated, and then the difficulties encountered in the process of the project, such as the translation of inserts and the translation of long difficult sentences, are discussed in detail. Under the guidance of functional equivalence theory, appropriate translation methods and techniques are chosen to solve the problem. Finally, from a macro point of view, the author combs, summarizes and reflects on the whole project, including the original translation, translation difficulties and solutions, and the author's translation level, in order to test the author's professional competence. To bring domestic readers a certain reading value of the translation.
