高中生隐喻能力与英语词汇水平的相关性研究

【摘要】：隐喻是感知和形成概念的认知工具,能将词汇的概念意义和联想意义联系起来。长期以来,大量学者一直试图寻找隐喻理论在二语习得中应用的渠道。隐喻理论和实践认为,作为语言能力和交际能力的补充,隐喻能力有助于深入理解词义的产生过程,为二语词汇教学提供了新视角。近年来,不少教育工作者也开始意识到隐喻能力的重要性,并要求二语学习者掌握这一重要能力。因此,研究隐喻能力与词汇水平之间的相关性就显得尤为必要。本研究以南昌市第十九中学114名高二学生为研究对象,采用隐喻能力测试卷测试学生的隐喻能力,采用词汇水平测试卷检测学生的词汇水平,并通过SPSS统计工具对数据进行统计和分析。结果表明:1)高中生的隐喻能力从整体上看处于较低水平;2)隐喻能力高分组和低分组的词汇水平差异显著(P=0.0000.05),高分组学生的词汇水平明显高于低分组学生的词汇水平;3)高中生的隐喻能力与词汇水平之间存在正相关关系,相关系数为0.84,相关性显著。其中,“发现隐喻意义的能力”对词汇水平成绩的影响最强,“产出隐喻原创性的能力”的影响次之,“解释隐喻流利性的能力”的影响最弱,三者均对词汇水平产生正面影响的作用。高中生隐喻能力的提高有助于词汇水平的提升。此外,本研究通过对随机抽取的8位学生和2位教师进行隐喻能力和词汇水平方面的访谈,为本研究的结果分析提供更充分的依据。最后,本研究从教学的角度,将隐喻理论与高中传统英语课堂的教学相结合,提出了相对应的教学建议,从而培养学生的隐喻能力,形成隐喻思维,并应用于二语词汇的理解和学习,提高二语学习效率,以达到提高英语水平的目的。
[Abstract]:Metaphor is a cognitive tool for perceiving and forming concepts, which can link the conceptual and associative meanings of words. For a long time, a large number of scholars have been trying to find a channel for the application of metaphor theory in second language acquisition. Metaphor theory and practice hold that, as a complement to language competence and communicative competence, metaphorical competence is helpful to understand the process of word meaning and provides a new perspective for second language vocabulary teaching. In recent years, many educators have begun to realize the importance of metaphorical competence and require L2 learners to master this important ability. Therefore, it is necessary to study the correlation between metaphorical competence and lexical level. In this study, 114 sophomore students in Nineteenth Middle School of Nanchang City were studied. The metaphorical ability test paper was used to test the metaphorical competence of the students, and the vocabulary proficiency test paper was used to test the students' vocabulary level. And through the SPSS statistical tools to statistics and analysis of the data. The results show that the metaphorical competence of high school students is at a low level on the whole. (2) the difference of vocabulary level between the high score group and the low group is significant (P < 0. 0000. 05). The vocabulary level of the high score group is obviously higher than that of the low group students. 3) there is a positive correlation between high school students' metaphorical competence and vocabulary level. The correlation coefficient was 0.84, and the correlation was significant. Among them, the ability to discover metaphorical meaning has the strongest influence on the achievement of lexical level, the ability to produce metaphorical originality is the second, and the ability to interpret metaphorical fluency is the least. All three have a positive effect on lexical level. The improvement of high school students'metaphorical competence is helpful to the improvement of vocabulary level. In addition, interviews on metaphorical competence and lexical proficiency of 8 randomly selected students and 2 teachers were conducted to provide a more adequate basis for the analysis of the results of the present study. Finally, from the perspective of teaching, this study combines the theory of metaphor with the teaching of traditional English classes in senior high schools, and puts forward corresponding teaching suggestions, so as to cultivate students' metaphorical competence and form metaphorical thinking. It is applied to the comprehension and learning of second language vocabulary to improve the efficiency of second language learning.
