土家族典籍英译的审美损失和翻译补偿——以《摆手歌》英译为例

【摘要】：少数民族典籍英译涉及民族语、汉语、英语之间的转换。这三种语言在文化和思维等方面的差异使得民族典籍的翻译难免产生损失。翻译损失涉及诸多方面,尤其是在审美层面,主要表现在修辞和音韵等方面。以土家族《摆手歌》英译本为例,对其在音韵和修辞两方面的审美特征及其在翻译中可能出现的审美损失进行剖析,并探讨英译本中的补偿翻译策略对原文审美特征的保留和再现。
[Abstract]:The translation of minority books into English involves the conversion of ethnic languages, Chinese and English. The differences between the three languages in culture and thinking make the translation of national classics inevitably lose. Translation loss involves many aspects, especially at the aesthetic level, mainly in rhetoric and rhyme. Taking the English translation of Tujia "waving songs" as an example, this paper analyzes its aesthetic characteristics in both phonological and rhetorical aspects and its possible aesthetic losses in translation. It also discusses the retention and reproduction of the aesthetic features of the original text by the compensatory translation strategy in the English translation.
