基于口译语料库进行的学习者与英语母语者之间搭配及语义韵差异性的研究

【摘要】:自语料库语言学自20世纪80年代在国内兴起以来,在外语教学,翻译,语言研究上取得了丰硕的研究成果。但是口译语料库的建设与研究却要晚得多。在国外Shlesinger于1998年首次提出展开语料库的口译研究。而国内的口译语料库建设起步于2007年前后。在语料库口译学研究中,通常主要涉及口译语言文本特征研究和口译操作过程的观察与分析研究。不同于以往将研究局限在单个口译语料库,本文创新性地利用了对比研究方法,通过定量与定性分析方法来对比学习者语料库与英语母语语料库在语义韵及搭配上的差异。此外,作者还总结了中国英语口译学习者常犯错误并分析了错误原因以及提出了教学建议。这种研究方法相比传统的定性研究要更加科学,更加客观。本文的对比研究涉及两个语料库,即由中国英语专家文秋芳所编的《中国大学生英汉汉英口笔译语料库》(简称PACCEL)与美国杨百翰大学设计的Corpus of Contemporary American English(简称COCA)。研究对象为PACCEL-S中的一句话“本次展会的主要目的是加强在该领域的国际交流与合作”。在语义韵研究上,作者首先从PACCEL-S1(本实验中的中国学生口译语料库)中提取了13个“加强”的英译词,然后在COCA中设定该13英译词为核心词,并且右搭配词跨距为3,并依此总结出该13个核心词的右搭配词的语义倾向情况,从而确定13个核心词的语义韵。随后与PACCEL-S1中13词的语义韵情况进行比较,得出在所调查的183例中,只有23%能掌握词汇语义韵,75%不能恰当地掌握语义韵,还有2%由于信息不完整无法调查。在学生英语搭配能力研究上,作者对两个V-N短语“加强交流”与“加强合作”的学生译文进行研究,并通过语料库对比总结出在183例中有效搭配率达到83%。然后作者继续统计学生在交替口译中各类常见错误之和为171次,并指出译文不完整,语义错误是前两位常犯错误。最后作者分析错误原因并提出教学建议。
[Abstract]:Since the rise of Corpus Linguistics in China in the 1980s, great achievements have been made in foreign language teaching, translation and language research. However, the construction and research of interpreting corpus is much later. The Corpus interpretation study was first proposed by Shlesinger in 1998. However, the construction of interpretation corpus in China started around 2007. In the study of corpus interpreting, it is usually mainly involved in the study of the characteristics of the interpreting language and the observation and analysis of the interpreting operation process. Instead of limiting the study to a single interpretation corpus, this paper innovatively uses a comparative approach to compare the differences in semantic prosody and collocation between the learners' corpus and the native English corpus through quantitative and qualitative analysis. In addition, the author summarizes the common mistakes made by Chinese EFL learners, analyzes the causes of the mistakes and puts forward some teaching suggestions. This research method is more scientific and objective than traditional qualitative research. The comparative study involves two corpuscles: the Chinese College students' English, Chinese and English Translation Corpus compiled by Chinese English expert Wen Qiufang and the Corpus of Contemporary American English( designed by Brigham Young University in the United States. The main purpose of this exhibition is to strengthen international exchanges and cooperation in this field. In the study of semantic prosody, the author first extracted 13 "enhanced" English translation words from PACCEL-S1, and then set them as the core words in COCA. The span of the right collocation is 3, and the semantic tendency of the right collocation of the 13 core words is summed up, so as to determine the semantic prosody of the 13 core words. Comparing with the semantic prosody of 13 words in PACCEL-S1, it is concluded that only 23% can master the semantic rhyme of the word and 75% can not grasp the semantic rhyme properly, and 2% can not be investigated because of incomplete information. In the study of students' collocation ability, the author studied the translation of the two V-N phrases "strengthening communication" and "strengthening cooperation", and concluded that the effective collocation rate reached 83% in 183 cases by corpus-based comparison. Then the author continues to count 171 common errors in alternate interpreting and points out that the translation is incomplete and semantic errors are common mistakes made by the first two. Finally, the author analyzes the causes of errors and puts forward teaching suggestions.
