功能对等理论下《自由作家日记》(节选)翻译实践报告

【摘要】:本翻译实践报告原文本节选自《自由作家日记》一书,该书叙述了美国的一位教师和150位青少年是如何使用写作来改变自己和周围世界的,日记内容包括由教师爱林·格鲁威尔写的8篇日记和150名学生写的142篇日记。笔者的翻译报告文本选取了其中由爱林·格鲁威老师编写的8篇作品和学生们写的24篇日记。格鲁威尔老师写的日记是非常正式的并且很有逻辑性,但学生写的日记充满了文化负载词,如俚语,专用术语。根据原文语言特点,笔者应用了尤金·奈达功能对等理论的句法对等和词汇对等,以说明其对翻译实践的指导。笔者在加深对原文内容的理解基础上,归纳出了该翻译报告的思路。根据功能对等理论以及对源文本语言特点的仔细分析,笔者使用了一些翻译技巧,词性转换法,增译法,省译法,合译法,拆分法,转态译法。结合功能对等理论的指导作用以及翻译策略的使用,笔者采用较为贴切的目的语来翻译源文本。因此,将源文本的信息有效地传递给目的语读者。
[Abstract]:The original text of this translation practice report is excerpted from the Free Writer's Diary, which describes how a teacher and 150 teenagers in the United States use writing to change themselves and the world around them. The journal included 8 diaries written by teacher Elin Growell and 142 diaries written by 150 students. The translation selected 8 works written by Elin Grumway and 24 diaries written by students. Mr. Gruewell's diary is very formal and logical, but the student's diary is full of culturally loaded words, such as slang and jargon. According to the characteristics of the original language, the author applies Eugene Nida's functional equivalence theory, syntactic equivalence and lexical equivalence, to illustrate their guidance in translation practice. On the basis of deepening the understanding of the original text, the author concludes the thinking of the translation report. Based on the functional equivalence theory and the careful analysis of the features of the source text, the author uses some translation techniques, such as part of speech conversion, incremental translation, provincial translation, combined translation, split translation and transliteration. Combined with the guiding role of functional equivalence theory and the use of translation strategies, the author adopts a more appropriate target language to translate the source text. Therefore, the information of the source text is effectively transmitted to the target language reader.
