【摘要】：此前关于委婉语的研究仅局限在单一的领域,并且缺少整合、系统的理论框架作为指导,而基于"语用综观"视角提出的顺应理论刚好可以弥补这一不足。顺应论发现语言的使用是一个永无止境进行选择的过程,而且这一过程还需要顺应语境相关因素。因此,本文利用Verschueren所提出的交际语境顺应理论作为指导思想,分析大量存在于美剧《绝望的主妇》中的委婉语对交际者心理世界(心理动机、情感因素、个性特征)、物理世界(肢体语言、眼神、身体状况、相对位置)及社交世界(社会规约、社会地位、性别、宗教信仰)的顺应情况,目的在于揭示使用委婉语实质上是交际者依据不同的交际需求而做出的一种语言选择,是顺应交际语境的结果。从理论上说,本文因丰富了其研究视角从而为其他基于顺应论的语言现象的研究提供借鉴。从现实上说,本篇论文对跨文化交际与英语教学均有重大的指导意义。笔者最终得出结论:英语委婉语的使用是一种语言选择过程,是动态地顺应了交际双方心理世界、社交世界及物理世界的结果。
[Abstract]:The previous researches on euphemism are limited to a single field and lack of integration, which is guided by a systematic theoretical framework. However, the adaptation theory based on the perspective of pragmatic perspective can make up for this deficiency. Adaptation theory finds that language use is an endless process of choice, and this process also needs to adapt to contextual factors. Therefore, using the communicative contextual adaptation theory put forward by Verschueren as the guiding ideology, this paper analyzes a large number of euphemisms in the TV series "desperate Housewives" to the communicators' psychological world (psychological motivation, emotional factors). Personality traits, physical world (body language, eyes, physical condition, relative position) and social world (social regulation, social status, gender, religion), The purpose is to reveal that the use of euphemism is essentially a language choice made by the communicator according to different communicative needs and the result of adaptation to the communicative context. Theoretically speaking, this thesis enriches its research perspective and provides reference for other linguistic phenomena based on adaptation theory. In reality, this thesis is of great significance to cross-cultural communication and English teaching. Finally, the author concludes that the use of English euphemism is a process of language selection, which is the result of dynamic adaptation to the psychological, social and physical worlds of both parties.
