《花笺记》的模糊语言汉英对比研究

【摘要】:模糊性是自然语言的本质属性。语言模糊性的意义因远超一个学科的范畴而得到了语言学家的热切关注,并且硕果累累。语言学家对语言模糊性的研究催生了数学学科查德的模糊集合论,而模糊集合论的产生又为一切涉及模糊性的科学领域做了理论性的铺垫,受益匪浅首当其冲便是翻译学学科。翻译学作为一门独立于语言学的分支学科,其发展也是欣欣向荣。文化转向是当代翻译研究的一个新转向,即关注文化的交际功能,意味着翻译作为一种跨文化交际活动,涉及的不仅是两种语言的简单转换,而是两种文化的碰撞、交流与磨合。而语言的模糊性又为跨文化交际活动制造了障碍,给翻译实践活动增添了机遇和挑战。模糊语言不仅用于语言交际活动中,还广泛应用与文学作品中。模糊语言在进行事物描述时是朦胧的、不明确的,其自身属性为作品营造了文学空白,为读者留下了足够的空间去阐释和想象。因此,大多数文学作品都十分重视模糊语言的运用。然而,对模糊语言的翻译研究主要集中在其他文体翻译,如法律科技文献、名人演讲和日常会话等,对文学作品中模糊语言的翻译研究却寥若星辰,深入地系统地剖析文学作品中的模糊成因更是少之又少。木鱼书作为近几年国际汉学界和民俗学界关注的热点,相对应的翻译研究也在积极展开。《花笺记》作为明清十大才子佳书之一,以说唱的形式讲述了明清时期别具一格的爱情故事,极具广东本土特色,在西方则成为“世界名著”广为流传。在中国却被评为“敷衍‘风月’故事的民间唱本”、“非经典大家之作”,而惨遭冷落。《花笺记》主要有1824年汤姆斯(Peter Perring Thoms)的Chinese Courtship和1868年约翰·包令爵士(Sir John Bowrng)的the Flowery Scroll两个译本。在最近数年,汤译本的研究论文有几篇,对包译本的研究也是寥若星辰。基于文学作品模糊语言翻译研究的屈指可数,《花笺记》作为广东木鱼书代表作,存在大量模糊语言现象,包译作存在一定的研究价值。以模糊理论为框架,缩小并界定研究范围,用定性分析和演绎法相结合,筛选《花笺记》文本中的模糊语言现象并进行归类和分析,对比原文本和译作,研究包令如何处理原文本中的模糊语言,结果发现《花笺记》中的模糊语言现象以语言(语义和语用)、修辞(比喻和委婉)及文化(意象和用典)为主,而包令在面对这些模糊现象时以宽容的态度灵活运用各种翻译策略,尽最大可能保留了原文的模糊性,为目的语读者创造了一定的解读和想象空间。因此,在对文学作品进行翻译时,模糊语言作为作品中的一部分,需深入研究其丰富的内涵和无限可能的外延,对作品的文化背景也要有深刻认知。翻译的过程可灵活采用厚翻译(注释、序言、文内注释和文外解释)、模糊对等(形式和内容)和模糊翻译(直译与意译想结合、省略和归化)等翻译策略来应对作品中因各种原因造成的各种形式的模糊现象,让翻译真正成为文化交际的一种媒介,而不是单一的语言工具。
[Abstract]:Fuzziness is the essential attribute of natural language. The meaning of language fuzziness has been paid much attention by linguists because of its far exceeding the category of one subject. The study of linguists' fuzziness of language has led to the fuzzy set theory of Chad in mathematics, and the emergence of fuzzy set theory is all the subject involving fuzziness. As a branch of linguistics, the development of translation studies, as a branch subject independent of linguistics, is also flourishing. Cultural turn is a new turn in contemporary translation studies, that is, to pay attention to the communicative function of culture, which means that translation is a cross-cultural communication activity. It is not only the simple transformation of the two languages, but the collision, communication and integration of the two cultures, but the fuzziness of language creates obstacles for cross cultural communication, which adds opportunities and challenges to the practice of translation. The description of things is obscure and unambiguous, and its own attributes create a literary blank for the works, leaving enough space for the readers to explain and imagine. Therefore, most literary works attach great importance to the use of fuzzy language. However, the study of the translation of fuzzy languages should be focused on other stylistic translations, such as legal science and technology literature, There are few stars in the study of the translation of vague language in literary works, such as celebrities' speeches and daily conversations. The deep and systematic analysis of the fuzzy causes in literary works is less and less. The relative translation studies are actively developing as the focus of the International Sinology and folklore circles in recent years. In the form of rap, one of the ten best books of the Qing Dynasty narrated a unique love story in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. It was very popular in the West and became a "world famous book" in the West. In China, it was named "the folk song of" the story of the "perfunctory moon", "the non Scripture people", and it was disastrous. < Hua Jian > is the main thing. There are two versions of the Flowery Scroll in the 1824 Thomas (Peter Perring Thoms) Chinese Courtship and 1868 John package order (Sir John Bowrng). As the representative work of the Guangdong wooden fish book, there are a lot of vague language phenomena. There are certain research values in the package translation. With the framework of fuzzy theory, the scope of study is narrowed and defined, and the fuzzy language phenomenon in the text of "Hua Jian" is selected and classified and analyzed by combining qualitative analysis and deductive method. How to deal with the fuzzy language in the original text, it is found that the vague language phenomenon in the "notes" is based on language (Yu Yihe pragmatics), rhetoric (metaphor and euphemism) and culture (imagery and allusions), while the package is flexible to use a variety of translation strategies in a tolerant manner in the face of these vague phenomena and to retain the ambiguity of the original text as much as possible. In the translation of literary works, fuzzy language, as part of the work, needs to study its rich connotation and indefinite extension, and be deeply aware of the cultural background of the works. The translation strategies such as fuzzy equivalence (form and content) and fuzzy translation (combination of literal translation and free translation, ellipsis and Naturalization) should be used to deal with various forms of fuzziness in the works and make translation a medium of cultural communication rather than a single language tool.
