2016年奥巴马白宫记者晚宴演讲模拟英汉交传实践报告

【摘要】：贝拉克·侯赛因·奥巴马是美国第44任总统,也是美国历史上第一位黑人总统。从2008年开始至2016年止,连任两届,为期8年。2009年获得诺贝尔和平奖。在最后一次出席白宫晚宴中,他对即将卸任的自己和任期内遇到的种种事件以极其幽默的方式进行调侃,表达出内心世界的真实想法。本文模拟奥巴马在白宫举行晚宴的场景,采用模拟交传的方式进行。通过奥巴马这篇具有特色的演讲,探讨在类似材料进行交替传译过程中应该注意的问题。鉴于欧巴马总统的幽默表述,翻译过程中对相关的背景知识的了解便成为重中之重,如何将“美式幽默”恰到好处的转化成“中式幽默”,如何将英语中的隐喻、双关等修辞转化成恰当的中文,这些都会在本篇论文中得到体现。口译是复杂的脑力活动,译员的大脑要同时进行听辨、理解、输出,大脑的负荷量较大,有时难免会出现漏听、错过、没有听懂的情况。本篇论文会根据模拟时的情况找出适当的解决方案来化解危机。最后,希望通过对于此篇演讲细致地分析与研究为翻译类似材料的口译活动提供一些有益的参考。本篇论文主要分为背景介绍、译前准备、模拟交替传译的过程、译后反思、总结五部分。背景介绍主要包含白宫晚宴的历史背景,白宫晚宴发言人的语言特色。前期准备主要涉及在进行交替传译之前进行的准备工作,查找有关总统选举的新闻材料、了解相关人员重大事件,对所用视频进行加工,达到可进行交传的要求。翻译过程是严格按照交替传译要求,对视频材料进行翻译。译后反思是通过作者实践之后整理出在口译过程中出现的难点,其中涉及长难句、使用修辞手法时的翻译方法选择、如何应对漏听的情况,最后总结全文。
[Abstract]:Barack Hussein Obama is the 44 th president of the United States and the first black president in the history of the United States. Two consecutive terms of eight years from 2008 to 2016. Nobel Peace Prize in 2009. At his last White House dinner, he teased himself and his presidency in a most humorous way to express his true inner world. This paper simulates Obama's dinner at the White House, using a mock transmission. Through Obama's distinctive speech, this paper discusses the problems that should be paid attention to in the process of consecutive interpretation of similar materials. In view of President Obama's humorous statements, understanding the relevant background knowledge in the process of translation becomes a top priority. How to turn "American humor" into "Chinglish humor", and how to translate metaphors into English metaphors, Pun and other rhetoric into appropriate Chinese, which will be reflected in this paper. Interpreting is a complex mental activity, the interpreter's brain must simultaneously listen, understand, output, the amount of brain load is large, sometimes it is inevitable to miss, do not understand the situation. This paper will find appropriate solutions according to the simulation situation to resolve the crisis. Finally, it is hoped that the detailed analysis and study of this speech will provide some useful references for the translation of similar materials. This thesis is divided into five parts: background introduction, pretranslation preparation, simulated consecutive interpretation process, post-translation reflection and summary. The background includes the historical background of the White House Dinner and the linguistic features of the White House Dinner spokesman. Early preparation mainly involves preparatory work before consecutive interpretation, searching news materials about the presidential election, understanding the major events of relevant personnel, processing the video used, and achieving the requirement of transmission. The translation process is strictly in accordance with the requirements of consecutive interpretation, video materials for translation. Post-translation introspection is through the author's practice to sort out the difficulties that appear in the process of interpretation, which involves long difficult sentences, the choice of translation methods when using rhetorical devices, how to deal with the situation of missing listening, and finally summarizes the full text.
