中外学者学术论文写作立场表达强度和方式比较——基于自建语料库的汉语学术语篇引言英译研究

【摘要】：不同语言文化背景的学者在学术论文写作中表达立场的强度和方式有所不同,但学术语篇(自)译者常常对这种细微差异重视不够,译文显得生硬不地道,一定程度上影响了国际话语社团对这类论文的关注度。本研究自建中外地学期刊论文小型语料库,比较了中文期刊汉语论文的英译版、国际期刊中国作者所撰论文和国际期刊英语国家作者所撰论文引言在立场表达强度和方式上的异同。研究发现,与国际期刊中国作者以及英语国家作者所撰论文引言相比,中文期刊英译版论文引言表达立场有时过于肯定,有时又偏于保守。本文在比较结果基础上对中文期刊论文英译策略提出了建议。
[Abstract]:Scholars from different linguistic and cultural backgrounds have different intensity and ways of expressing their positions in the writing of academic papers. However, the translators of academic texts often pay less attention to the subtle differences, and the translation appears stiff and inauthentic. To some extent, it affects the international discourse community to pay attention to this kind of paper. In this study, a small corpus of Chinese and foreign geoscientific journal papers was built to compare the English versions of Chinese journals with Chinese ones. The similarities and differences in the intensity and manner of position expression between the papers written by Chinese authors of international journals and those written by authors of English-speaking countries of international journals. It is found that compared with the foreword written by the Chinese and English-speaking authors of international journals, the preface of the English translation of Chinese periodicals is sometimes too positive and sometimes conservative. On the basis of the comparative results, this paper puts forward some suggestions on the translation strategies of Chinese periodical papers.
