跨文化视角下的维汉大学生英语语用失误研究

【摘要】:维吾尔族大学生和汉族大学生在英语学习的过程中,进行跨文化交际时会出现语用失误。语用失误与语言的使用有关,属于语用学研究的范畴,特别是跨文化交际语用学中的常见现象。因此,减少语用失误,成功进行跨文化交际成为外语教学的一个重要目标。本文从跨文化交际的角度出发,以Thomas(1983)提出的“语用失误”为理论框架,研究新疆维吾尔族(民考民)和汉族英语专业大学生的语用失误。笔者采用定量和定性相结合的研究方法,根据问卷调查,借助SPSS软件,对数据进行统计,然后建立语用和文化相结合的理论进行定性分析。旨在了解维汉大学生在实际交际的过程中对已经习得的语言知识的应用情况,探究维汉大学生在跨文化交际中存在的语用失误差异,通过对比分析进一步挖掘出维汉大学生语用失误产生差异背后的文化,心理和认知原因。研究结果表明,在语用能力培养方面,维汉大学生都有待提高,且汉族大学生语用失误的比例明显高于维吾尔族大学生。文章认为,维汉大学生语用失误的差异与文化意识,母语迁移和学习认知相关,这对少数民族地区的外语教学具有一定的启示意义。因此,本文建议应该有具有针对性地进一步加强文化教学和师生的语用意识。另外,鼓励两族学生相互学习交流,发挥维吾尔族大学生的语用优势,着重提高汉族大学生的语用能力。以期减少语用失误,使得跨文化交际能够顺利进行。
[Abstract]:Uygur and Han nationality students in the process of English learning, cross-cultural communication will occur pragmatic failure. Pragmatic failure is related to the use of language and belongs to the category of pragmatics, especially the common phenomenon in cross-cultural communication pragmatics. Therefore, reducing pragmatic failure and successfully carrying out intercultural communication has become an important goal of foreign language teaching. From the perspective of cross-cultural communication, this paper studies the pragmatic failures of Uygur and Han English majors in Xinjiang, based on the theoretical framework of "pragmatic failure" proposed by Thomas Thom (1983). The author adopts the quantitative and qualitative research method, according to the questionnaire survey, with the help of SPSS software, carries on the statistics to the data, then establishes the theory of the combination of pragmatics and culture to carry on the qualitative analysis. The purpose of this paper is to understand the application of the language knowledge acquired by Uighur and Chinese college students in the process of actual communication, and to explore the differences in pragmatic failure between Uighur and Chinese college students in cross-cultural communication. Through comparative analysis, the cultural, psychological and cognitive reasons behind the differences in Uygur and Chinese college students' pragmatic failures are further explored. The results show that in the aspect of pragmatic competence cultivation, Uygur and Chinese college students need to be improved, and the proportion of pragmatic failure of Han students is obviously higher than that of Uygur students. The paper holds that the differences in pragmatic failure of Uygur and Chinese college students are related to their cultural consciousness, mother tongue transfer and learning cognition, which has some implications for foreign language teaching in minority areas. Therefore, this paper suggests that we should further strengthen cultural teaching and pragmatic awareness of teachers and students. In addition, the students of the two ethnic groups should be encouraged to learn and communicate with each other, to give play to the pragmatic advantages of Uygur students, and to improve the pragmatic competence of students of Han nationality. In order to reduce pragmatic failure, cross-cultural communication can be carried out smoothly.
