基于CBI教学理念的大学英语写作教学研究

【摘要】:英语写作能力是英语学习者综合英语能力的一个重要组成部分,同时,英语写作又是英语学习和教学的难点。由于传统的写作教学方法过于重视语言形式,而忽视写作内容,这使得英语写作教学略显单调,导致学生对英语写作兴趣不高,英语写作能力得不到提高。如何改进英语写作教学方式,激发学生的英语写作兴趣,提高学生的英语写作水平,值得广大教育工作者深入探讨。二十世纪八十年代以来,基于CBI教学理念(以内容为依托的教学理念)的教学法获得广泛关注。研究表明,基于CBI教学理念的教学法是教授二语或外语的一种有效方式。它主张把内容学习与语言学习结合起来,通过有意义的内容输入,学生不仅能发展语言技能,而且可以学得新知识。在国内,基于CBI教学理念的教学法已被运用到某些高中英语课堂并取得成效,然而目前这一理念极少应用到大学英语写作教学中。本文把CBI教学理念应用到大学英语写作教学,探讨CBI理念指导下的写作教学法是否比传统的写作教学法更能激发学生的写作兴趣,提高他们的写作水平。本研究采用写作测试、问卷调查和访谈等方法,在华北电力大学科技学院2015级大一年级大学英语8班(控制班)和15班(实验班)进行了为期20周的实验。实验初期,作者通过写作测试和问卷调查,发现实验前两个班学生的英语写作学习情况和英语写作水平没有明显差异。实验后期,两个班接受同样的写作后测,考察学生的英语写作水平变化情况。并且作者对实验班进行访谈和后测问卷调查,观察学生写作兴趣的变化。写作测试数据采用SPSS 17.0软件来处理,通过对以上三类实验数据的分析和讨论,结果表明,基于CBI教学理念的写作教学法能激发学生的写作兴趣,而且能更有效地帮助学生提高英语写作水平。本文旨在弥补当前大学英语写作教学的一些不足,为大学英语写作教学提供新思路,发展大学英语写作教学研究。期望英语教师更多重视写作内容,在教学过程中结合学生的兴趣进行英语写作教学,从而提高学生的英语写作水平和能力。
[Abstract]:English writing ability is an important part of English learners' comprehensive English ability. At the same time, English writing is a difficult point in English learning and teaching. Because the traditional writing teaching method pays too much attention to the form of language and neglects the content of writing, it makes the teaching of English writing a little monotonous, which leads to the students' low interest in English writing and the lack of improvement of their English writing ability. How to improve the teaching methods of English writing, stimulate students' interest in English writing and improve students' English writing level is worthy of further discussion by educators. Since 1980's, the teaching method based on CBI teaching concept (content based teaching idea) has gained wide attention. The research shows that the teaching method based on CBI is an effective way to teach a second language or a foreign language. It advocates the combination of content learning and language learning. Through meaningful content input, students can not only develop language skills, but also acquire new knowledge. In China, the teaching method based on CBI teaching concept has been applied to some high school English classes and achieved good results. However, at present, this concept is rarely applied to the teaching of college English writing. This paper applies the teaching idea of CBI to the teaching of college English writing, and discusses whether the teaching method under the guidance of CBI can arouse the students' interest in writing and improve their writing ability. In this study, writing tests, questionnaires and interviews were conducted for 20 weeks in Class 8 (Control Class) and Class 15 (Experimental Class) in Grade 2015 of the College of Science and Technology of North China Electric Power University. At the beginning of the experiment, through writing tests and questionnaires, the author found that there was no significant difference between the two classes' English writing learning and English writing level. In the later stage of the experiment, the two classes received the same post-writing test to investigate the changes of students' English writing level. The author also conducted interviews and post-test questionnaires in the experimental class to observe the change of students' writing interest. The writing test data are processed by SPSS 17.0 software. Through the analysis and discussion of the above three kinds of experimental data, the results show that the writing teaching method based on the CBI teaching idea can stimulate the students' writing interest. Moreover, it can help students improve their English writing ability more effectively. The purpose of this paper is to make up for some deficiencies in the current teaching of college English writing, to provide new ideas for the teaching of college English writing, and to develop the research on the teaching of college English writing. It is expected that English teachers will pay more attention to the content of English writing and combine the interest of students in the teaching process so as to improve the students' English writing level and ability.
